vs Kermit Cintron fight as a possibility for a comeback attempt for Q......Thats the word on the street. :tired
Thats what I'm thinking, unless Quintana somehow manages to make another "dangerous" fighter look incredibly awful :nut
naw i think cq was cuaght cold by williams all credit for the win but he's still needs improvement. cintron got rocks in his glove and has fundamentals if he land cq is out,And he will land:good
Carlos should take an easy fight. He does not have to put himself out there like that right now. Let Cintron find someone else to fight. Let him fight a top ten contender. We keep seeing the same names fighting each other. Let Cintron get back in line. Carlos needs to fight a top fifteen fighter and then go after Williams for the rubbermatch.
Your right. I think Carlos Quintana came in a little over-confident after his spectacular upsest of Williams, so, when Williams surprised him by aggressively sitting down on his punches, well, Quintana was badly hurt for the first time in his career. He didn't see it coming. Now, after a KO loss, these days, you can't put the guy in with a real threat immediately afterward. This is because, unlike the fifties, boxers don't compete ten times a year. Management is very important. I think it would be AWFUL for Quintana to be matched with a murderous puncher like Cintron after a devastating loss. Even though Quintana has the FUNDAMENTALS to defeat a Cintron, he may not have the confidance. I want to see a couple of "W"'s back on his resume before he steps in with a top-10 ranked fighter, especially a puncher. Either way, GO QUINTANA!!!:bbb
Wow, impressive answer. If he were to fight Cintron and get caught again, it possibly would end his career. A tune-up will definitely help. He can get his game plan intact and go after Williams for the rubbermatch in November or February of next year.
How is Cintron's confidence right now? I think the mental edge goes to Quintana even now, after a TKOby1. Even before the Margarito rematch (and the first Williams fight), when Cintron's stock was at its highest with his vaunted improvement, I favored Quintana (whose stock was low at the time) over him. Carlos is tough and skilled; someone his own size that isn't an animal like Cotto isn't going to have much chance to hurt him. I can even see him stopping Cintron by accumulation.
I'm sure that Quintana will be in line for another title shot soon. There's the winner of Clottey v Judah (IBF strap) or Berto v Rodriguez (WBC strap)... He's pretty good and he's waiting for a nice up and comer or new champion to sleep on him the way that Williams did or how Julio did.
Kermit Cintron would be desperate for a fight now that he's lost his last fight by KO and that he's been dropped by his promotional company. I don't think that Cintron is skilled enough to handle Quintana ... if Cintron can't land or if he can't hurt you with his power he easily gets discouraged and folds. He did it against Margarito (twice) and against Feliciano ... He also doesn't have a jab ... he paws it out there leaving himself open for power shots. Given that Quintana's a southpaw, if they ever fought, Quintana would unload thats over hand lefts on Cintrons chin ... Cintron would get dominated ... UD or late rounds stoppage
Exactly. Open and shut case. :good Still a good fight though, as it puts Quintana right back in the mix (due to Cintron's name/status) and probably marks the end of the flawed Cintron muddling the welter scene.
