One of the few promoters I'll say I like.

Lou may not be a great guy by any stretch of the word but he's managed to make me consider using the words "honest" and "promoter" in the same sentence.

 

I don't know guys, these referees and judges are assigned to different sites around the world. Promoters pay for these guys' expenses as they should. Nobody else is going to freaking pay for them.

Just because we had a freaking robbery last night, it does not mean that all judges are automatically corrupted by these promoters for obligatory spending.

I mean, normally we always get the proper decisions in fights. Robberies aren't the norm after all.

 

Yea, that sounds true. I recall a promoter taking out the judges out for dinner a night before a fight.

 

yer right ..nobody else is going to pay for them...the promoters have to pick up the tab....

and robberies arent the 'norm'...but they happen enough

these judges arent staying at the econo lodge and eating at dennys....and since the promoters are picking up tabs...whats to stop them from sending a worker to the hotel room with an envelope of cash?

a legitimate sanctioning body should select and pay the judges a standard fee and provided standard accommodations (after collecting $ from the promoters as part of a 'legitimate' sanctioning fee). they should also provid legitimate oversight and evaluation of judges so they can have a descent reputation (the orgs that is). it's common sense, but it is and has always been a corrupt game

 

Judges seem to get wined and dined by promoters, notice the judges always vote for Williams, except for the first Quintana fight, in which they thought they did not need a decision.............Lara won big, yet the criminal judges gave him a decision that was a disgrace, investigation needed badly!

Lou actually had lunch with a few bloggers at press conference and chatted with them. He made himself available to them and even remembered them a few months later. They told me that he is pretty open and honest.

 

everybody should know this

 

This isn't news. I heard about small promoters doing this years ago, I can only imagine what bigger ones do. All less pay money. The best hotels, the best restaurants, even hookers. All is payed for promoters and always was like that.
