It's not really how much Sergio would receive in this fight, this fight is just to elevate him into a money making position if he were to beat Floyd or put up a good bout vs him

He'd probably receive somewhere around 6-7 million with Floyd getting around 45-55 since Martinez isn't as much of a draw as people make him out to be.

He's no Cotto or Pacquiao in draw #'s.

Floyd would probably make less than he is against Cotto and Sergio would probably make more than he has against Williams twice, Pavlik, and Dzinziruk combined.

Nonetheless, I do want Floyd to face Sergio at MW, so I suppose I vote for "take it."

Are Sergio's non-PPV HBO ratings amongst the highest currently out there? Because, regardless of what he deserves based on merit, the Wilt Chamberlain-affect exists. If Person A brings X amount times more money to the table than Person B, then Person A deserves that difference.

Floyd fighting at 154, so he HAS to fight Sergio at 154.

    :hi:

There's 2 ways I predict ppv sales for Pacquiao and Floyd against an opponent.

How big that fighter's fanbase is and will the combination of that fighter bring out the casual fans and more of the 2 fanbases to watch.

Cotto has a big fanbase, but Sergio may make more casual fans intrigued by the fight. I believe Paul Williams is the same way. His fanbase is small, but if people see Floyd vs some 6'3 guy who throws 100 punches a round, they'll show up.
I felt the same with Berto. Berto can't sell at all, but people will see Floyd vs Berto and look up who Berto is and see a fast power guy who's undefeated (speaking from last year)

It would be a huge build-up and then a let down. One, Martinez would be weakened to move back down to 154 and two, he is too awkward, wild, and careless at times with his style. We are talking about facing a great defensive fighter. He would get picked apart and he will only have a chance in the beginning of fight with a lucky shot and then the dehydration will kick in.
