Since Sulaiman is kown to be corrupt, when people hear anything closely related to corruption by Sulaiman its blown up regardless of how small it is. They way its seen, is that there's probably more than just those small bets.

As President of an organization, I think Sulaiman is wrong for showing favoritism, especially with all the corruption surrounding boxing.

its one thing with a "bet you a steak dinner" as a PR type thing... its another if he dropped 500 grand at a vegas betting site. this is over blown, but in poor taste because of his actual ability to alter an outcome, crooks like the WBC have no shame anyway. i wouldnt be outraged, i mean he bet on the guy that is gonna got his ass kicked...(prob why he aint making a real bet on JR)

I'm not entirely sure he cares about his fighters. I think he only cares about his investments and his money.

i never saw him draw the line on the obvious favoritism over his countrymen with how they are always ranked, re ranked after a loss, ect, but recently with the salvador sanchez nephew title shot, he took so much heat for him being considered an opponent for the WBC 126 title, he squashed the idea...the guy had never beaten a guy ranked under 200 or boxrec, and he was inches from a WBC title shot :rofl

You have no shame it seems, if this happened in any other sport their would be a investigation into all their business practices. But you're okay with this because you're a Chavez fan, come on Freddy, fan or not this is some corrupt **** man! You're intelligent, and fan or not, surly you can see that this is not right.

Holy ****... lol. It's just a dinner bet. It happens all the time in every sport, and nobody gives a **** because it means nothing! Money bet is a different story, but he probably does this all the time and loses often as well.

Thing is, we don't know if he's betting with a casino. He could be doing it through another person. Its just totally inappropriate to be the sanctioning org and leaning towards either fighter in any way.

Man this is some bull**** ...ain't no way Chavez has a chance of beating Martinez. If Lee can out box him for a few rounds imagine what Martinez is gonna do.

I meet lou in new york over the summer, had a few drinks and if he is a coke fiend he ain't sharing. He is highly excitable and will start ranting and raving about anything. He told us he asked arum for mayweather testing for this fight and arum just hung up the phone and he ain't a fan of jr or the wbc at all. Also said he promotes alot of irish fighters because his first wife was irish, his current missus was amazing he also wears a world series ring
    lou's a cool dude:smoke

As far as my favorite personality among the top promoters in the country, Lou DiBella has always been my favorite hands down. I always love it when he does the The Boxingvoice- "Leave It In The Ring" radio show.
