Nova was a top fighter in the heavyweight division of his day. He lost to Galento and Joe Louis but beat Farr, Abe Simon and Tommy Farr. Nova was about 210 pounds. Tua could be outboxed. Who wins?

From what I’ve seen of Nova, he could be hit, and he’s also a lot lighter than Tua, he’d need a decent defence and boxing ability to beat Tua at that size, I don’t know if he has enough.

    Tua KO.

What does this have to do with Galento?

Everything is about Galento when you drill down far enough.

David Tua was clearly the superior fighter to Lou Nova in almost every way—power, speed, durability, skill, and overall resume. Tua had crushing one-punch knockout power, especially with his left hook, and one of the best chins in heavyweight history—he was never knocked out despite facing elite punchers like Lennox Lewis and Ike Ibeabuchi. He beat three former world champions (John Ruiz, Hasim Rahman, and Michael Moorer), all by knockout, and was a top contender in the brutally deep 1990s heavyweight scene. Nova was a tough guy for his time and had a couple good wins, like over Max Baer, but he was stiff, slow, and got demolished by Joe Louis. His style and athleticism just don’t hold up across eras. Tua would’ve steamrolled him—he hit too hard, took a better shot, and fought at a much higher level.

If one is good enough to beat Max Baer, one is hypothetically good enough to beat David Tua. Are you forgetting Max Baer's stats? 6'2, 215lbs, about the size of Sonny Liston, hit very hard, iron jaw and very physically strong.

Nova was 6'2 207 when he beat Max Baer. Evander Holyfield was 6'2 208 pounds when he won the title. Is 6'2 207-208 too small to have a chance at beating Tua?
