Nova was an early practitioner of PR gimmickry, and he was good at it. A man ahead of his time. I like the "cosmic" angle. He would've made a good beatnik. I could envision him on the road with Jack Kerouac.

 

Nova is getting undersold here. He got up from Baer's right hand, went 20 rounds with him and hit hard enough to tko him twice.
He was a good fighter at his best, and he had decent boxing skills considering that he decisioned Tommy Farr and Lee Ramage and drew with Bob Pastor.
He had the size and attributes to give Foreman problems if he stuck around after round 5.
