I mean the case could be made. He wanted FMJ. But FMJ was not interested in that fight. He wanted Canelo, but Canelo wanted him to get old. Notice the pattern here of who he wants to fight? He wants to fight cash cow.
WTF??? What kind of boxing fan are you? Of course we want ALL fighters to fight the toughest available opposition possible. Yes most of us do. That's why we admire fighters like ODLH, Canelo, Vasyl Lomachenko, JCC, SRL, Lennox Lewis, Duran, and the many fighters who never made excuses or blamed others why they couldn't face certain opponents. You Canelo haters and GGG fans have very low expectations for GGG.
IBF: "Now that you're not fighting in Canelo in May you need to fulfill your mandatory. GGG: Here's my belt. GGGoons: Canelo is a coward for not fulfilling his WBC mandatory. Also GGGoons: GGG is an intelligent business man for telling the IBF to **** off with their mandatory. This has nothing to do with how fights are made and everything to do with how GGG has chosen the path of least resistant more often than not.
Short notice?? Golovkin fought Vanes 2 months after Cenelo tested positive. Tom Loefler and Sanzhez know the business and know how strict the WBC are on anti-doping so they knew right there and then that the fight was off , so they had plenty of time to find a good opponent. Besides that , Golovkin had no obligation to fight on May 5th since the PPV and the arena in Vegas was cancelled. You could justify him staying faithful to that date if he was big enough to carry the PPV on his own in the T Mobile but he wasn't and was instead moved to a half empty Sub Hub centre. Golovkin could have fought whoever and whenever he wanted , he could have honoured his mandatory obligation , but instead he chose to reach out to a guy one division lower who was in semi retirement. Vanes didn't even call him out , he called up Vanes which makes it worse considering the better options that were available to him. The extreme length he went to duck Dervo says a lot about his level of greatness , or rather lack of it. The man is simply not willing to take on challenges. He basically spent his entire championship run perusing and pestering smaller guys to move up and fight him , expecting them to take the kind of risks he would never take.
FMJ is a WW. Canelo had his first MW defense in 2016. He fought GGG in 2017. Yeah, I notice GGG will only fight risky opposition for the right money. That is one of the main reasons I can't get behind him. Consider that fighters like Canelo, Lomachenko, Ward all fight opponents regardless of risk/reward ratio, those are the fighters I root for.
Canelo hater? Now I'm a canelo hater? Grow up girl... AVAILABLE is the key word. But you aren't smart enough to know where or how that applies. You worship cash cow fighters who have the ability to pick and choose who they fight. You have no feakin clue how the rest, 99%, of boxers go through. You're just a casual fan who sticks around so long as you have a cash cow to support. NOt to mention, we've now proven you are a pathetic liar who will say anything. Well, we've already known that. And you'll keep saying stupid things, because you haven't grown as a fan since you stated watching boxing at 13.
2 months is still pretty short notice to get a decent opponent, camps are 8 weeks long let alone all the negotiations and stuff like that. I'm not sure why they chose to fight on that date but it's probably some promotional reasons, I don't know. You don't know. But it's a stay busy so we should treat it as such. The Dervo thing, it's a duck, I agree. I'm willing to overlook it due to all the BS that was happening at the time. They probably thought that there's no point in taking such a dangerous fight when Canelo fight might be remade. Not defending him because it's still taking an easy route but there's a level of context to it. But after Canelo we'll see what happens, he should definitely fight him if he wins over Jacobs. The BJS fight needs to happen as well.
Do you even follow boxing? Or do you come here just to talk ****? Jermall Charlo SHOULD be next in line for GGG's WBC strap. http://wbcboxing.com/wbceng/ratings?layout=edit&id=145 Ryota Murata 14W 1L comes in second place as he is the WBA mandatory for GGG's WBA title.
