I'm not trying to be a ***** but how do you know how loud this shot was? The only version I saw had an after the fact blow by blow announcer and fake punch sound effects. Just asking incase I'm missing something.
It also depends on the crowd. I remember when Tyson fought Tubbs in Japan the crowd was so quiet you could hear the punches. Sometimes the undercard fights you can hear the punches more. I don't know what it means. I remember Starling against Honeyghan and hearing the punches. I thought, boy they are going at it. Starling could hit.
This content is protected There's no shot sounds added to this version, but you hear a loud "THUD" at 18:47
There’s a version with the real audio It was very loud, but the microphones of the day don’t make it comparable to how they sound with modern equipment. But using that context, it was a thunderous crack
Yeah the old mics really can't pick up audio too well, Marciano KO Walcott was apparently a crack so thunderous that many in the audience wondered if Walcott was still alive, but in the clip of it you can only hear the sound of you listen very closely This content is protected Around 0:31 there's a BA-DUNK that wasn't even added in. Also notable is a fellow brocktonian saying "c'mon rock, whaddya waitin' for?"
Tony Sibson koing Bob Coolidge with his left hook.Coolidge had his back to me when I heard the impact of the punch and saw him propelled backwards out.
The double punch in the first knockdown of Tyson vs Holmes. One of the scariest sounds I've ever heard in a boxing fight!
GGG vs Macklin. Golovkin's body shot KO sounded like a gunshot. You could hear it throughout the arena.
