I think Shavers was a slightly better boxer than Max Baer ,whom Loughran bamboozled when Maxie was fairly green. However Earnie did not have great stamina and Loughran did, if Tommy can make Shavers continually miss with his big shots,I think Loughran might exhaust the Acorn enough to win a dec, boxing behind his jab. Of course, should Earnie land that big right, all bets are off!
I think that if they fought twice, Loughran would get stopped once, and Shavers woudl be outpointed once. That is how I see this. If it is a one off deal, then I go with Loughran.
Toney was a stationary target at Heavyweight.Friday night I watched him against Peter,Peter ,almost as badly conditioned as Toney won.I don't think Peter could hit as hard as Shavers, nor as fast,Toney might win a dec,but he is going to be one sore boxer after the fight.
