I have several books on the era.do you seriously think Ali knew WTF he was talking about on this issue?
You have a very weird way of collating and presenting your arguments do you know that?
You haven't produced one single primary source for any of your claims this whole thread, its just been a lot of posturing , insults, and bombast. Your worst enemy couldn't have done a better job of destroying any credibility you might have aspired to,than you have managed.

I have only declared this once before on this forum but...

You are too stupid to debate. Sorry, you don't have even the most basic facts in order. You repeat overplayed drivel as spectacularly insightful... and your moral compass on material is fantastically off.

My original post is literally a primary source

Unbeaten is a book founded on many primary sources.

    I've referenced boxrec too.

Who, in your infinite wisdom, coined the term "white hope"?

Uhuh... Soooo, why'd you come onto my post, and try to debate me, disregarding the original information, and calling Marciano and attrition puncher with little proof? Then say I'm too stupid to debate when you started it? I'm sure Jersey Joe would agree with you, even though he said Marciano hit harder than Joe Louis.

Sorry, Marciano has freakish genetic power.

It was first used in an editorial in the New York Times,December 30th 1908.
Stanton has written a total of two books, only one of which is on boxing, he isn't a recognized boxing writer ,much less an authority on the subject, his blurb ,promoting his book suggests he has the same take on Marciano as yourself ,ie pure hero worship.

Marciano was an attrition puncher ,he wore guys down,ie Layne Walcott,Lastarza,Moore,Charles,Cokkel.

That's why he ruined so many of them ,with the sustained beating over many rounds. He targeted both Layne and Lastarza's body softening them up, and reducing them to stationary targets.Cokkel said he wasn't the hardest puncher but he threw hard punches incessantly,Moore said the same. A prototype of Frazier.

He met with many of the Marchegianos, friends of Lee Epperson and other opponents, some friends of Marciano, and many others. He also did his homework, he saw the interview with Burt Reynolds talking about his friendship with Marciano, he watched both of the ESPN documentaries, and has clearly seen his boxrec quite a few times.

The book does have a few errors and takes some rumors too seriously (ex. Rocky cheating on his wife, some stupid stuff he might've done when he was younger, despite his father and mother saying he was a peaceful, nice person who never got into any trouble as a boy).

((Pierino said this in an interview with Marciano and his training camp that I'm too lazy to dig up, before you say I have no primary sources))

He one punch KO'd Layne and Walcott. He even knocked Walcott out in the first round. You know my opinions on Cockell and Moore. You have me with LaStarza and Charles, though Marciano always said those two were the toughest he ever fought. They mightve just had iron chins/great defense

I really hope you don't consider Marciano as worse than Frazier when Moore, Foreman, Ali and Frazier himself all rate Marciano above him...

Wow an interview with the recently deceased Reynolds that will tell us a lot about Rocky's fights!
Who hasn't seen or read about that? The confrontation with a drunk who wanted to fight him.

After he retired Marciano kicked around with Frankie Fratto [Frankie One Ear] a connected guy and he also did some small time loan sharking charging pretty minimal interest on his loans. Marciano eschewed the women when he was fighting, but after he retired he more than made up for it, travelling with a suitcase of dildos and vibrators.Good for him if that was his thing. I guess Nick Castro,Ernie Clivio and Izzy Gold are long dead, they would have been the ones for Stanton to talk to about Rocky's life after he retired.Did you know that Marciano visited the Mafia Boss Vito Genovese in prison when Genovese was dying? Probably not.
No you don't have any primary sources, not even for the title of your thread!
