Connolly was decent. Wilson's loss was still legit, a cut is a cut, and Marciano would've beaten him anyways. Louis was still a great fighter, he just wasnt the god of boxing he was when he was younger

He sheared the front teeth off of Layne down the nubs.

If Marciano not beating quality big men is an issue shouldn't the same be true for Ali being untested against skilled men over 230

It's almost like size isn't everything. Marciano and Ali's average opponent size is actually very similar

Albeit I can probably count on 1 hand how many skilled fighters weighed over 230lbs in their prime

Lol none of those 200 pound fighters were good fighters kid. I guess you need to tell yourself that to build up your little boxing hero. Do you know what is factual? Marciano twice fought 160 pound fighter Ted Lowry, not only did Ted Lowry beat Marciano in their first fight and got robbed. He toyed with Marciano and could of knocked him out when he chose. What is fact is in 2 fights Marciano couldn't hurt Lowry. Yet Billy Foxx a 160 to 170 pound fighter was able to knock down Lowry 1 time in both of their fights. Tells you how overrated Marciano's power was.

Oh and Jack Dempsey never fought Louis or Marciano so he wouldn't know who hit harder. Jersey Joe Walcott saying Marciano punched him harder than Louis proves what? Walcott was destroyed by Abe Simon years before he was stopped by Marciano. Show me a interview or link with Walcott saying Marciano punched harder than Simon. Tiger Jack Foxx also knocked out a prime Walcott. Show me a interview or link where Walcott stated Marciano punched harder than the 177 pound Foxx. Walcott was knocked out by Al Ettore. Show me a link or interview with Walcott saying Marciano punched harder than Ettore.

You Marciano fans still living in your little fantasy world where you think a slow weird looking 180 pound fighter could beat a modern sized heavyweight cracks me up. You need your little hero to be more than he is because for 50 years you know who dominated the heavyweight division.

Eh no, it's just quality. I'd be way more scared of fighting Joe Louis or Jack Dempsey than Wladimir Klitschko or Tyson Fury

I asked you for 200lbs class prime heavies Marciano beat and you come up with 12-9 Connolly?

Louis was no longer a great fighter when he fought Marciano.
You are trying to lay bricks without cement!
I repeat Marciano never put an opponents teeth through their mouthpiece into their lips. Still no quote from Louis stating Marciano was the hardest hitter he faced.
As I said from the start.CLICK BAIT.

Its a statement from Marciano that I'd bet my life on. Louis was still really good. In fact I think the Louis that fought Marciano would defeat some lesser lineal champs in their primes like Marvin Hart, Carnera and Leon Spinks

You have no quote from Louis, which is the title of your thread,so its a dishonest title. There is simply no way around that.
Louis was no longer a great fighter.Hart,Carnera ,Spinks were never great, so they are irrelevant to this discussion

    >Lineal heavyweight champions
    >Not great

I didn't even mention the true bums like Stiverne or Ruiz.

Anyways what do you want me to do? The title is made. Louis said it because Marciano said Louis said it, and Marciano has the utmost respect for Louis. Crazy how you're willing to believe Archie Moore's mother but not Rocky Marciano
