Styles are key so who knows ... I ask as I have heard so many arguments as to how Archie peaked late, how he dominated the entire heavyweight division to earn his hot at Rocky ... one thing I do believe is that Archie could definately ring Joe's bell ...

Moore certainly has the defense to trouble Louis. Johnson was just as accurate as the Bomber and probably quicker, yet he found himself swinging at air most of the fight.

More cute than mobile, Conn's accurate counter punching troubling Louis at close quarters.

That said, Louis was a patient and smart fighter. He'd eventually time Moore and put him to sleep, but I don't think it would be easy or early.

Not to discredit Louis but Schemling buckled under the pressure during the the rematch.
He was not the active confident fighter of the first fight. Meanwhile, Moore went into the Marciano match at his most confident and determined.

I never got why people use the Louis of the second Schmeling fight as an example. The fight was too short to judge how good Louis really was and Schmeling then was not a good opponent. I would use the Louis who obliterated Baer or Conn the second time as an example.
