I never noticed it until someone else asked me what i thought the punch looked clean but he had a late reaction, braced his fall, only moved to adjust himself on the canvas now either it was just a weird KO or Braddock who put Joe down early realized he was not gonna win and that great prefight deal he got insured money after retiring [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD90WfoPvh8[/ame] what do you guys think
nah, not seeing it myself. one of the greatest knockouts i've ever seen still. i guess people sometimes have ****ed up reactions to getting hit
just curious what other ppl thought i mean Hide lifting his leg an arm in the air vs Vitali Klitschko was weird and that Tyson look alike lifting his legs vs Moorer was weird too
Its a genuine KO. Braddock fought a great fight and left it all in the ring. Louis had to nail him to the floor to beat him..and he did. Jim kept going and Louis knocked the last of his resistance out of him. Its what I call an implostion. Braddock seemed to fight it but it was sheer colapse. under slow motion louis actualy knocks jims hand away to make a path for that right hand. It was like joe stopped time and jim could not move because he was done. That moment it was like a free shot. The conection turns jim around and it had everything on it. You dont hit people like that without knocking them out.
It looks real, just his equilibrium was screwed. I just wish Braddock hadn't been so rusty when he fought Louis, he hadn't fought for 2 years straight. :-(
Braddock had his teeth pushed through his mouthpiece into his lips by that right hand, if you think it is in anyway suspect .I suggest you take up watching another sport.:huh
Good lord man, how much more convincing does a K.O. need to be for u to believe its real? I suppose Foreman vs Frazier is a fixed fight too huh?
I believe that Louis & Braddock are 2 of the last guys who would have been involved in a "suspect" KO. Two of the most honourable guys to ever hold the Heavyweight Title, I would suggest. The famous picture of Braddock leaving the arena with his face a mass of bandages should be enough evidence that James J went out on his shield...it hurts just to look at that picture...I can't imagine how sore his face and mouth must have been...especially the next day...brave, brave man. They are the kind of guys you'd want on your side in a fight when your back is against the wall... These are the kind of guys that make me love boxing and make me proud of our sport.
No reason to question the legitimacy of the KO, but I can see what the thread starter is saying. I've always thought that Braddock had just had enough and went down from a hard shot. He didn't fall like he was genuinely unconcious, though. Close enough I guess.
He was out of it man, similar thing happened with Layne and Marciano, Braddock himself said something along the lines of "After taking that right I could've stayed on the canvas for the next 3 weeks". If there's anything i question regarding Braddock it certainly ain't his heart.
