Joe frazier will have to come in to beat louis and no one can do that. Louis will tear him up on the inside with fast deadly combinations.

They're not going to be as effective as they normally would be, that's the thing.

Louis, self professed, could barely deal with heavy pressure if at all.

Louis should take Frazier, he has the far better boxing skills. Here's an interesting question... Who had the better left hook?

I'd take Louis to win by TKO in roud 3 or 4. To much skill, precision, and power, meaning he would hit Frazier early, a lot, acurately, and hard. Frazier would have to do the same to Louis to have a chance and I think Louis was way more likely to succeed at this than Frazier. I look @ the Quarry fight #1, which was very competitive till Joe wore him down. I think Louis would hit Frazier the way Quarry did, but harder and with greater accuracy, plus he would defed himself better than Quarry.

Watch the Quarry fight again...quarry looked good in rd 1 (still very close)...Joe clearly controlled the action afterwards...

I have Frazier at #5 all time, if there was any one result in boxing history I could change it would be Ali-Frazier III, I love the guy, so I say this with the deepest respect for the Philly man - Louis would get him.

Meet Louis in the middle of the ring, lose.

Louis did ads for Chesterfield actually. You can still pick upcigarette cards with him on them endorsing coffin nails.

Louis refused to be photographed eating watermelon ,but had no qualms about endorsing cigarettes ,in fairness to him there was a lot more ignorance on the subject in the 50's

Louis really did not to be crowded, and Frazier used far more upper body movement than Godoy did. He also closed in much faster than Marciano did. Smoke also was capable of starting quickly when the situation warranted, and the opportunity presented itself.

This one goes to the scorecards, unless Louis can swell Frazier's eyes shut to force a stoppage.

Whether or not a three knockdown rule is in effect can be highly significant for Frazier here, also if scoring is on a rounds system or ten point must.

I think Frazier would have come off the deck to win a decision. Louis had underrated defensive skills, but Frazier's body attack would render that moot. This would be a deadly conflict, if between the Louis of Godoy II and the Frazier of the Ramos fight (where the Mexican made liberal use of some fine uppercuts from both sides, to no avail). Ramos was no Louis, but Louis was no Foreman in terms of sheer physical force either. Neither would be running or clutching. I figure Frazier to be busier over 15 rounds.

Of course Louis could rip Smoke out early, but I feel Frazier's spirit carries him out of any early turbulence, serving to wake him up instead.

When you have somebody that stands in the ring still and counter punches against a guy who is a slugger who comes forward and doesn't step back, it is bad for the counter fighter. It throws him off of his game.

Louis had some of the greatest skills of all time; but Frazier would keep applying heavy pressure while Louis is off of his game. Frazier would get into his groove and unleash his arsenal and eventually wear Louis down and beat him.

I don't think Louis could keep Joe off of him. Lous is great, but he wasn't a great infighter. Frazier would get inside him and stop him in the mid rounds.

This one would be a war while it lasted...Louis a two fisted assasin and Smokin Joe with his wrecking ball hook...even Smoke said there were 2 fighters that would beat him and ALI, Louis and Marciano....and then Joe said he was 3rd and Ali 4th...I like Louis by Ko in this one, he had fast 2 fisted 6 punch combo's that were hard to recover from, Frazier would keep Joe busy though and give him some shakey moments...this fight would be lovely

I tend to agree with this.

At least Joe (Frazier) was being honest with his own limitations. Joe (Frazier) was very much like Marciano, with the exception he relied on his left almost exclusively for power. I think that is what would hurt him most against Louis.... getting Louis to focus on just a few things would always spell trouble. Still Frazier would pressure Louis and this would be a good fight, as Louis didn't like to be pressured.

I'll pick Louis in round 9 or 10.
