Now factor Ali being bigger and faster with a longer reach. I think Ali could win by late stoppage. People don't really rate Ali's power that high but when you think about it, he won by stoppage more often than not. Frazier, Liston, Foreman, Patterson, Lyle, Quarry, Ellis, Bonavena were all stopped by Ali.
I think we have our wires crossed here a little burt (rather than just saying that your wrong). I read your post and fully understand what you were saying. I merely wrote that if you were to say that about Ali being dropped 4 times by the same punch, then in fairness and keeping all things equal, it should be brought up about Joe being dropped more times with the 1 punch. I see nothing wrong with stating this:good
J, my contention was that Baer, without a defense took the greatest wallop of any heavyweight I ever saw, including Ali, who after all had a great "defense',but nevertheless was dropped at least 4 times by a SINGLE punch... Baer aside from when Louis unloaded on Baer was NEVER on the floor from a single blow...Louis of COURSE didn't take a punch like Ali, and of COURSE Ali did not hit nearly as deadly as Louis... P.S. I had my electrician come and uncrossed" my wires ! Cheers.
Take a look at the Wepner knockdown. It had nothing to do with Ali`s chin. It was a part punch part trip. Not a good example of anything. Galento did hit Louis with a clean shot and it was a legit KD.
