Any fighters here have low back issues like a herniated disc or something of that nature. If so, what do you guys do to keep it in check and not effect your boxing training? Any thing specific you guys do? Any input would be appreciated.

First make sure that it's not something that you are doing in training that is making it hurt. When you are bobbing and weaving under punches, be sure that you are bending at your knees and not at your waist.

Supermans and plank exercises are good for strengthening your low back as well as keeping your abs strong.

Warm up really well... make sure the hamstrings are stretched, and then the glutes and lower back. Also, a couple of sets of crunches BEFORE working out to get the abs a little tight so they do more supporting of the spine.

Ive got 2 bulging discs I find providing I keep flexable and keep streching I am ok. Plenty of abb work has worked wonders for me. As amy said make sure you bend your knees when you duck not your back. A little deep heat rub on your back before you train also.
