Has anyone seen data on how often the winner accidently throws a low blow?

    It is usually the loser who fouls. This is my thinking in a general sense

    Have a look at Joe Louis v Jack Sharkey. Louis actually knocks out Sharkey with a very low left hook.

    Tyson got deducted 3 points for low blows in the second Ruddock fight...far as I know, when you lose that many you're meant to get DQd. But after the wild scenes following the first fight, I guess the ref didn't want to cause even more chaos and let it slide.

    In their first fight Henry Armstrong lost 3 rounds due to hitting Lou Ambers with low blows, but still won the decision. I their second fight Henry lost 5 rounds due to low blows, and lost a close decision.

    JCC would really skew any statistics on this one.

    hattons sledgehammer to tszyus balls was a reaction to the many low blows the australian dished out. completely justified punch to the testicles i reckon.

    :lol::lol:

    Seriously. You'd need a pen and pad to keep a tallymark on the low blows JCC used to dish out.

    Rocky Marciano landed quite a few low blows in his filmed fights.
