Thank you. You will be as long as you put forth the effort. I'm not special nor a genetic freak, I just will myself to get to where I want to be in terms of my body and mind's performance.

I wonder if you can help me with a problem i have with pistols. I find that I can't position my bodyweight correctly at the bottom of the squat. What am I doing wrong, and what do I need to strengthen. Funny thing is I can balance when I do them with a big pair of boots on.

do it inbetween 2 chairs or a wall so you can hold on, practice like that till you're ready, thats how i did it.

Sound advice. I also find that it helps to have full body tension and stretching your arm outwards in a "Superman flying" type position.

Thank you. Just keep at it and before you know it, you'll surpass me.

You're all stronger than you think.

Most people find it easier with added weight as it helps with the balance part of the exercise. I don't know if I can do a single bodyweight one but can do them with 20-25kg.

    EDIT

Just tried a bodyweight one and only just managed to do it.

I was talking to a guy yesterday, he said doing this with an 80lb kettlebell weighing around 175lbs is very impressive, I'm not that easily convinced especially if you randomly put up 50 easy.
    Do you squat or deadlift?

To be fair, I've also been working on pistols since '07 and have put up a 70lb KB before. I also do jumping pistols as well.

Sadly, no, I don't squat or deadlift due to lack of equipment...

    Does this hurt you're knees..?

It looks like the weight is being distributed over you're knee, and not onto you're glutes and heels.

Its impossible to distribute the weight into you're glutes and heels on this exercise........"I think"

Well i dunno, i have not tried it.

Good vid. This is one of the very few exercises that I can do for my legs also due to lack of equiment. I prefer to stuff weights in a backpack so that I can focus on my legs more, but a kettlebell works equally as well. It's all personal preference I guess.

Have you ever tried any hamstring bodyweight exercises? I've been doing them for about the past two months or so and they are really effective. They look something like this, but you can always make them more challenging with a backpack full of weights [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4z5zxLdXiss[/ame]
