Lower weight classes get too much attention at the expense of HW and CW divisions

    Agree with OP.

Way too much focus on small lanky guys at lower weights. The only reason is because America (and Mexico) have prominent fighters at those weights.

It's a bit like an athletics fan deciding that hop skip and jump (officially known as triple jump) is suddenly far more important than the 100m because the people from his country started winning medals at hop skip and jump.

That's what Americans have done with boxing.

:nono Don't be salty just because EE has scanlty produced any quality boxers south of featherweight since Wladimir Sidorenko & Dmitry Kirilov.

Honestly, the lightest guy I can think of off the top of my head from the former Bloc that's really world class - though he's more than just world class, he's elite - is Lomachenko, and he's all the way up at FW (and will probably grow into at least 135lb).

Look at this down syndrome guy he sounds like he's arguing with himself :rofl:rofl:rofl

So you are saying that Heavyweights aren't the best fighters but at the same time if smaller fighters were much bigger they would fight differently losing speed, stamina and finesse but gaining power?

What if we made weight classes and height classes for American football, basketball and rugby.

Then we would see the truly talented best athletes in the world @ 5ft5 and 130lbs competing against each other.

These guys are just far superior to guys 6ft4+ and weighing over 220lbs, midgets are essentially the best athletes that ever did exist only handicapped by size :hey:rofl:hey:rofl:patsch

What was that dude's name who was the world's highest paid athlete from 2013 to 2016?

I should remember because Forbes, Wall St Journal, BusinessWeek, Money magazine, on did huge stories on him each year.

The man was literally MONEY and carried the whole sport of WORLD boxing on his lower than HW Atlas shoulders.

HWs would obviously win in a H2H against fighters from lower weights, but that does not make them better boxers. Just because you are bigger and hit harder does not mean that you have more talent and skill.

I watch all boxing; different weight classes, different continent's and different levels (from p4p to domestic journeymen small hall shows) and i have always found HW, particularly modern HW boxing to be the dullest. The fights generally have low skill levels, are fought at a pedestrian pace and are also one paced. Other than when a big shot lands, there is usually no urgency in either fighter. It is a bit like German boxing. They just don't go through the gears.

You make a mistake in the heavyweight division and its lights out, if a heavyweight was fighting a middleweight they would go through the gears like nobodies business.

The likes of Wilder, Fury and Parker have the ability to throw as many punches per round as a flyweight but there is a huge risk element which prevents them from doing so.

Don't you think that has anything to do with Eastern Europeans being bigger and stronger than the average person?

South of Featherweight? You're aware of how small Flyweights are right?

Ummm yea.... no they do not. The bigger you are the more oxygen your body requires to maintain sustained activity.

This is just how the body works.

    I agree.

Mayweather and Dana Whyte can thank the Klitschko brothers for making them ultra rich.

If they were American then Mayweather would never have taken off the same way and neither would UFC.

Americans are usually only interested in other American fighters.
