Billy Conn failed vs prime joe louis for the hwt title & ezzard charles outpointed the shot version of louis but that means nothing as these 2 greats fight at their absolute peak & earn the right to meet either foster or spinks in the final. you have 2 days.
This could be a great match up. Two technically sound fighters but i have to give the edge to Charles who simply accoplished more both at LHW and HW. Close UD
I think Charles would win he has more tools and would be bigger someone here posted that Charles beat and knocked down Conn in an exhibition during WW2.
That was me,and that is what I read. It happened in an sparring session during W.W.II. At any rate I like Charles in this one. I believe he was a bit stronger than Conn, Punched much better than Conn,and boxed a bit better. Tough scrap for both though.
I have to see more of both but I know that billy conn finished in the official top 10 p4p boxers of the last century (9th, I think) & charles didnt. That means **** of course but it must mean that conn was at least a very very good 175 lber or ezzard charles is badly underrated judging by the ass whipping conn has taken on the votes.
