    Tyson was the 1st KO'ed, remaining 7:
    Ali
    Dempsey
    Holyfield
    Jeffries
    Johnson
    Louis
    Sullivan

Remember the only way to be eliminated is KO's. Taking it out of the judges hands!
I'll be putting up the 2nd elimination after the poll is up for a while:

Dont know why i am doing this,

But for those without the time to watch,

Johnson was first down, after a short grapple/jab with Ali Jeffries is second to hit the deck after John landed a headlock uppercut. Next up Johnson's front facelock and body blow has Dempsey on the floor. The Same Johnson moveset also drops Jeffries who is the first to hit the floor twice, but neither is a big drop. When Johnson tries third time lucky on ali, Ali is too quick and gets a short knock down on johnson. At this point, Dempsey pulls a huge vertical suplex on Holyfield which must have shook him and may have somehow also taken out Tyson as well, who looks to have been hit by Jeffries also at this time (film unclear). John L meanwhile holds a slight advantage in the ******* with Joe Louis. Tyson was dazed by Holyfield and then ran into a massive Dempsey right hand which finished him off.

Ali, John L and Joe Louis look to have taken the least punishment so far.

Boilermaker you have the eyes of a Hawk! lol i was hoping nobody noticed the suplex. that glitch will be ironed out in future battle royals

I messed up the poll at the top but here's the results of the original poll:

I compiled the votes from the first poll. Holyfield and Dempsey tied for 1st in that poll. Tied for 2nd was Ali, Johnson and Tyson (who is eliminated). Tied at 3rd was Sullivan and Jeffries. & Joe Louis did not receive any votes!

Remember one of these greats is going to win. who will it be? It can't be tyson... the winner is scientifically the greatest of all time!

As odd as it sounds for me to hear myself saying this I would pick Jeffries or Johnson to win a battle royal of all of those guy. Jeffries because of sheer strength, durability, and athleticism, or Johnson based on his experience in battle royals.

Klompton, there is a lot of talk about Johnson being experienced in battle royals, but i have never found a newspaper report or direct quote from johnson about his experience in these. Actually i ahve never seen a newspaper report mention them at all.

What evidence is there that they existed, and that Johnson took part in them. Also, it is always said Johnson was experienced in them, but never Langford, Jeanette or McVey. Why is this?

Here I have to plead ignorance and state that I only stated Johnson's experience in battle royals from the same hearsay you mention. I will say though that I have seen a lot of accounts of battle royals and they rarely mention the participants by name. So its possible that he was in them and it wasnt recorded, or its possible he wasnt in them at all and that was just tacked on to his resume to make his story more dramatic.

Johnson himself describes fighting in one in Springfield Illinois & that's independantly verified in writing by George Siler. It's where he first saw Johnson. I also remember reading at some point of a battle royal he was in as a kid and one he was scheduled to be in in Memphis but I saw nothing else on them. That said though its safe to say it wasn't future hall of famers he was fighting in there!

Jack forgot his own credo: protect yourself at all times. He put Joe Louis down with a flurry then turned to watch Jeffries on the ground for an instant--and that was all she wrote

    See the elimination:

Johnson got booked against Klondike off the Springfield battle Royal so sometime before May 1899. Also these were more like county fair attractions at best, I don't feel them not being in a newspaper means they didn't happen. Maybe only maybe the NPG would have one line on it and that would be purely by chance. There were major fights that only got a couple lines in local papers which these were not

why is Jack Johnson wearing pink shorts? And why does he have a guy picked up horizontal by his legs?
