Round 1

Milovanović is moving clockwise, putting out her left jab to zap Cecchi's right in mid-air, then plugging her with straight rights on a decline into her midriff. Cecchi having a hard time getting her rhythm & timing down on the rangy and initiative-seizing opponent, doing lots of waiting and posing. Milovanović's body shots (and one strapping right across the jaw as they cross sword-hilts with their jabs) are the cleanest stuff connected.

This would be a highly dispiriting setback for Cecchi, who is now 1-0, to get upset by an 0-4 import from Serbia in her sophomore outing.

 

Round 2

Milovanović is baiting Cecchi with long 1-2s into an exchange of straight missiles from a couple of paces apart. Cecchi steps in and does connect with a left that gets a cheer from the crowd, but then shies away, staying behind the guard peering at Milovanović between her thumbs and getting tagged with long rights.

Round 3

Milovanović flurries past Cecchi's head and is pulled into a clinch, where both hammer each other with rabbit punches and the undersides of their forearms clubbing one another on the neck until the ref splits them up. Cecchi with some messy body shoeshines after ducking in under Milovanović pumps out her next predictable straight combo, and they clinch and spin again. Cecchi darts in and bops Milovanović against the left temple with a couple of right hooks and then bounces out to reset, then repeats, in & out.

I'm surprised how good a watch this has been, with it being a women's bout with only 5 pro bouts' experience between them...

A bit too much clinching, but otherwise a pretty fun & interesting styles match-up..

 

Round 4

Milovanović is reducing her volume now, waiting until she's close to Cecchi before surging up with front-crawl stroke combos, but Cecchi has scouted her and is either sidestepping with a counter right hook or ducking in and clasping her arms behind Milovanović's back until waiting for a break. Cecchi has started to dial in a nice 1-1-2, painting Milovanović's face lightly with the double right jab before nailing her with a stiff left cross.

Round 5

Milovanović is warned for something on a break, either hitting on the break or straying low. She nods sheepishly (after wisely ensuring that she's ample distance from Cecchi first before averting her gaze) as the ref wags a finger in her face. Cecchi advancing behind the right jab. Milovanović rallies in the final half minute with a straight flurry of about 5-6 punches, of which about half clip the cheekbones of Cecchi as she's rushing in.

Round 6

Milovanović is hurling the jab and right out from a low base on splayed legs, obviously tiring. Cecchi presses in, showing the high right jab and then instead spearing the left into Milovanović's torso. Lots of violent, freewheeling clinches as their arms wrap like around each other's throats like snap-bracelets. Cecchi looking the fresher and more interested to rumble on.

Petrović was hit with a rabbit punch but is over-selling it, rubbing a glove on his neck, maybe looking to escape with a NC (or even thinking he could milk it for a DQ win if he's miraculously lucky) - ref isn't buying it, though, and tells him to get back to work.

 

Big drop in watchability from the ladies..

Petrović just doesn't want to be there, period. Every time he answers the bell he casts anxious glances over his shoulder at his corner, like "must I?"

 

I had to take a call from my mom so I missed the result of Fersula vs. Petrović, but the good news is I literally don't give a ****.
