This is for the vacant IBF cruiser Mediterranean title (which has a 15 year lineage since Giacobbe Fragomeni became the inaugural champion, but has never been defended; all six bouts for it have been for the vacant belt...)

Semen Levin is an all time great name, even though I realize his last name is pronounced “le-veen” and not “leaving”

The 40 year old Levin is outworking D’Ortenzi and has kind of bossed the round lol. I hope he’s able to keep this work rate up

    Round 1

D'Ortenzi is stepping in, bobbing slightly to either side with his guard up, collecting a trickle of light up-jabs from the hip by Levin. D'Ortenzi watching the slinky, awkwardly fluid movement of Levin as he crouch-strafes around the ring and flicks up either hand at intervals. D'Ortenzi waiting to pick his shots rather than counter on the way in, pressuring without punching. D'Ortenzi rows out a jab and intercepts one from Levin, both men's arms deflecting in opposite directions, away from both of their chins. Nice sneaky uppercut by Levin after zigzagging his neck & shoulders inside through a couple of lazy jabs by D'Ortenzi. They circle and trade air-jabs.

    10-9 Levin

This is apparently a rematch, which I didn’t realize until just now when I looked at Levin’s BoxRec. D’Ortenzi actually handed Levin his first loss by way of UD over 6 rounds

    Round 2

D'Ortenzi seems a beat too slow to respond as the 40 year old Levin (nine years D'Ortenzi's senior) writhes his way inside with serpentine lunges of his entire corpus above the waist, and rattles off quick headhunting combos or just series of sharp rapid jabs while keeping his right glove pinned to his face protectively. Levin boxing very nicely here, making D'Ortenzi fall into a defensive shell and getting off in bunches, then leaving a few parting-gift jabs on the way out and immediately breaking into unpredictable trajectories, surrendering his natural height advantage to shrink down and make himself a small target with his shoulders constantly rolling up just in case D'Ortenzi fixes aim on him with anything (which he doesn't). With ten seconds left on the clock, D'Ortenzi misses a left and chops across the jawline with a right, his cleanest shot yet, but doesn't steal the round.

    10-9 Levin

    20-18 Levin

Good catch! That must have been dodgy scoring, because Levin is clearly better (or at least has D'Ortenzi's number), based on this... or else has improved big time since then.

    Levin - D´Ortenzi

    1: 10:9
    2: 9:10
    3: 10:9

This is hard to score, very close rounds.
