Gave him a handshake, it was shocking fight to bow out on to be honest. One stat that impresses me was the fact he turned pro at 30.

    37 pro boxing fights
8 pro MMA fights including against a young Daniel Cormier. Good innings from Lucas

Classic tough man who made a decent career for himself. Good personality as well.
He got nailed for PED use following his upset of Chagev, which is a dark blemish on his sportsmanship.

in any event, he was entertaining and hope he has a long and enjoyable retirement.

He would not be one to trifle with at the pub that’s for sure.

Just the size and look of him tells someone thinking about mucking up in a pub all they need to know.

Browne was a good Rugby League player as well he played S.G Ball for Parramatta Eels before he turned to combat sports.

Did he throw the fight against Gallen? And if so, that’s a pretty bad thing to do, right.

I don't think he did but it could probably be interpreted the way people want to interpret it.

Always liked Browne. Seemed like a top bloke who didn't take himself too seriously.

Not the most skilled of course, but massive concussive power. When he KOed Chagaev my jaw dropped. That was a heavy, heavy uppercut that dropped Ruslan. Wish he'd have maybe got in the ring with a Leapai or Charr or Helenius in his better days. Think those would have been some fun fights. But his career was more than respectable considering how little he had to work with outside his size and strength.

Good luck in retirement Big Daddy. Hope you can enjoy a fulfilling life after boxing.

So a guy best known for being a steroid cheat is a "Aussie" Legend. So is Jarrell Miller a legend now too

Be interesting to see who tries to lure him out of retirement with one more payday.

Big Luc and his team ( I think Ippy was one of them ) going to Grozny to fight chagaev was one of the most testicular fortitude things I've seen in decades , Good luck to Lucas I hope he's put enough poke away to enjoy his retirement with his kids , Thanks for the fights Luc .

I was always a fan of Lucas. Seems like a nice bloke and the kind of guy who would have some great stories over a steak and a pint. I wish you nothing but the best in retirement Big Daddy, enjoy.
