Bermúdez is zombie-locked onto Lescurat, following and leading with left hooks from long range, predictably getting mostly avoided with Lescurat then grunting as she plants her feet to rattle off bursts of counter hooks and rights. Cat and mouse game, so far the cat being starved.

The unofficial scorer for BDP has it 20-18.5 Lescurat, with round two scored 10-9. So that means they scored the first round 10-9.5, which is a thing in South America.

Basically (for anyone that isn't aware) they use that for those rounds that are maybe closer than a 10-9, but not quite a 10-10. Not a horrible idea, honestly, but I doubt they'll ever see widespread use in the northern hemisphere, because, that's a lot of extra math and most boxing fans can already barely keep track of a ten point must.

 

3-2 combo scoring nicely for Lescurat. Bermúdez has to stop leaving those wide gaps to exploit during her own slow combos.

Oh damn. Bermúdez knocked her mouthpiece out halfway into the fourth and then battered her into the ropes while Lescurat was maybe anticipating the ref was going to interrupt to have it replaced. Nice little surge for the underdog, got in some heavy lumps and probably bagged her first round.

Lescurat stepping to her with the jab now, getting clocked a bit more as she grows less mobile, but her risks are paying off as she's able to freeze Bermúdez and score flashily with the jab and 1-2 and then resume moving laterally.

Commentators have it 50-46, meaning they found another round to score 10-9.5 somewhere. In a sense they have it a shutout, but they've given Bermúdez a half-share of two rounds. I know, for anyone reading the RBR that hasn't ever watched South American boxing it sounds like a total mind****, but trust me, this is normal.
