Lucas Brian Ariel Bastida vs. Juán Manuel Taborda/Juan Hernán Leal vs. Christian Nicolás Andino RBR

Leal, making a first defense of his FAB welterweight title, is coming off an upset over shopworn Diego Gabriel Chaves. Andino is coming off a draw with astonishingly handsome fellow prospect Yoel Alberto Peralta.

Each has just one pro defeat.

 

Well hopefully their fighting ability is proportionate to areola size, because Leal has tiny baby microtitties.

 

Round 1

Leal has Andino hurt with an overhand early and is on the hunt. Andino is dancing around, pawing with single and double left jabs, back skating against the ropes. Leal rushes in again, clattering several powerful shots at the head but Andino raises his arms from hip level to block and keeps moving. Pot shot jabs by Andino constantly turning Leal, and he is even able to score a combination punctuated by a shallow uppercut while staying away from Leal's big right hand.

Was about to say I'd be shocked if anybody got stopped tonight, as Leal has only four career stoppages while Andino has just two.

 

Round 2

Andino is scurrying in close and placing the jab, then jerking straight backward or falling over in a sideways lean before Leal can retaliate. Andino getting bold, crab-walking up to Leal and poking at him with three or even four jabs in a row. Leal is very hesitant for some reason, stepping almost to within range but then reining up and pulling back or hopping away from Andino's feints and flurries. With under twenty seconds left, finally Leal explodes with some lunging power shots but Andino is able to duck away to ride them, and comes up firing some weaker shots in return.

Round 3

Andino is squatting very low as he dances around, leaving booby-traps for Leal with quick jabs up off the lead hip. Leal no longer giving him as much respect as in the second, running him down like he did in the first and clobbering down, landing a few rabbit punches which Andino complains about, only to be ignored by the ref. They have an exchange in the middle of the ring where Andino is rocked by a left hook thrown as Leal is exploding up from a crouch. Another one rocks Andino moments later as he is attempting to rally and get off a few consecutive jabs thinking Leal has gone into a lull. Andino content to very lightly tap Leal with jabs in multiples without ever setting his feet. Not sure if he thinks he's convincing the judges with this work in the face of Leal throwing a tenth as much but 10x heavier.
