Bastida is jabbing and lowering his arms to conserve wind. Taborda watching and waiting for a spot, then getting bored and wading in with jabs and overhands that Bastida is able to drop away from. Taborda much busier, just not able to lay a clean glove on Bastida, so it boils down to a fencing duel with the jabs, which Bastida gets the slight better of.

Round 2

Bastida is jabbing and then straightening up and raising his guard. Taborda is trying some overhand flurries early but continues to spend precious energy on hefty misses. Bastida now staying tall on the outside, falling in with the odd body jab and 1-2 up top, and then either tying up or resetting far out.

Round 3

Both doing lots of posing. Taborda walking up close and staying in a readied stance, goading Bastida into doing something - but he doesn't, other than jab the body now and then. Taborda finally probes with a jab and chases Bastida into the ropes, and slices a few right hands down his back as he's turning away from him. Bastida scores some long jabs from outside and comes inside slashing down with the right hand, causing Taborda to drop a level and hold. Bastida flings out a backhanded jab, falling a little short, and then pulls away. Taborda flings out his own backhanded jab, also falling short. Both just staring at each other. Lots of dead air in this match-up.

Round 4

Bastida is rolling one fist over the other while standing pat - and Taborda mirrors him, doing exactly the same movements. These kids are really not setting the world afire in this one, at least yet. Bastida is catching Taborda's jabs on his forearms, then catching him in a headlock, whereupon Taborda lands some body shots with his freer hand. They separate and pose, and then cautiously jab, and then have some more jittery run-ins. God this is a tepid and tentative affair.

Round 5

Bastida is rushing in, feigning as though he's going to fire a right hand, only to pull up short and put his dukes up. Taborda waiting, waiting, waiting ad nauseum. When he does actually do something, to his credit, he's able to clip Bastida with a 1-2 coming up from a crouch. Both doing a whole lot of nothing for most of these rounds, getting to be a chore to watch at 2am.
