I agree that Chag's career completely trump Wilder's, but beating this version of Chagaev who's clearly way past it, doesn't suddenly improves his record that much that he can surpass him. The belt itself isn't worth much more as Povetkin's WBC Silver, and current Chag is worth less as Szpilka. I get that Wilder is a paper champion, fighting paper challengers, but Browne's belt is worth even less, and hasn't beaten a top 20 opponent yet.
The WBA regular is only about as valuable as the usba, and nabf were back in the 80's. Providing that WBA weight division also has a "Super Champion".
Chagaev is better than any single win on Wilders resume but Brownes is a little weaker of the two overall. Still Browne is a glorified bouncer who didn't start boxing until he was almost 30. What he's been able to accomplish is far more impressive considering his late start and limited experience. Wilder had a late start and limited experience too... But he started boxing at 20 not 30 and had 28 amateur fights before turning pro. Browne had to learn from the ground up as soon as he turned pro and wasn't coddled on the way up like Wilder.
