Australian heavyweight Lucas Browne claims he has proof that he entered Russia a clean athlete having undergone blood and urine tests upon arrival by VADA.

If true, it certainly lends credibility to his theory that he was spiked by someone working for his opposition during his time in Chechnya.

I mean, why would someone decide to take clen a few days before the biggest fight of the career in a division wherein he didn't have to make weight and knew he'd be tested post fight? It doesn't seem to make a any sense.

If Chagaev is reinstated who in their right mind would be willing to go there to challenge him with such a question mark hanging over getting a fair shake? The time keeping in itself should rule it out of hosting championship boxing anytime soon IMO.

Okay, he doped while in Russia.

A lot of these dopers have their excuses. Until Browne proves his innocence, I'm fairly sure he used it as a masking substance. It wouldn't be used for losing weight, it would be used for masking over the roids he took.

Or he took something while in Russia. That test proves nothing legally, the drug was in his body by the time of the failed test. Not saying he's a drugs cheat, just saying his defense won't help him. It's called strict liability...

Only shows he was clean entering Russia. It still doesn't prove innocence or guilt. It may lend credence to his theory but that's about it.

If that's true, it was a smart move. It may not mean anything legally, but it will certainly help him in terms of public perception.

It doesn't matter .. The belt is gone. He should have watched out better. Shows how amateurish him and his promoter Hatton are.

Fury was already warning us about this. And now it's coming into light.

They agree to watch what they consume in totality. He's a professional athlete that agreed to the terms of testing. He blames a 3rd party, ignoring that he's responsible. Dopers have always used this excuse. I was drugged, I ate bad beef, my dog did it lol. Look at the 2010 Tour de France winner. He blamed it on consuming local beef. The result, he was stripped anyways. He's still responsible for whatever he consumes. He's not a child, can't run to mommy over this.

He's probably telling the truth 100%, try reading Fres Oquendo's account of what happened to him when he tried to leave the country after he lost his match. And then try telling me that Browne is full of ****.

Since Browne has given up on getting the results of the B sample are they set to overturn the win now?

No doubt about it. Chagaev is old and new WBA regular champ. Just a formality. Chagaev vs. Oquendo up next.

Ironically Oquendo also tested positive after fighting Chagaev in Grosny the first time around :rofl
