I've been following Browne training on social media, he's training and working on his fitness pretty hard, but he has also bulked up even more. Unless he's lying to trick his opponent, Browne has constantly stated he's at 130kg and feeling great. In yee old American terms, that's 286 pounds, Brownes heaviest weight ever and heaviest in years. No doubt to try to bully and nail Whyte, Browne has bucked the lower weight trend and gone down the Jarrel Miller path. Can he pull it off if he's so big?

I think this will be a good fight. Two tough guys - hopefully it’ll be a bit like the Chisora vs Whyte fight.

Difficult to call because Browne is a lot older and been fairly inactive whereas Whyte has been busy. Browne also has one punch knockout power that Whyte doesn’t.

Interesting one and very close I think.

Im interested to see how Browne fights this one strategically. I think he has figured his boxing skills are never going to be able to match the top heavyweights, thus won't be able to pull off a performance against them like he did the smaller, overweight and aging Chagaev. Browne to become a big pressure fighting, smothering slugger as Fenech intended? Got some tips from Miller? Will be interesting to see his approach to Whyte.

I can see this one starting very quick. Both men going at it in a war in the early rounds. Both have poor engines so it will become a slow slugfest after that and ultimately Browne should have the power to take Whyte out whereas Whyte won’t have the power to take Browne out.

Where has Browne's engine failed him?

He has been the full 12 rounds 3 times and won them all.

Yeah and lumbered against Rudenko. He had to take performance enhancing drugs to try and aid his performances so it’s hardly perfect is it? I never once said it will fail him I said it will slow him down he’s nearly 39 years of age! Of course your engine goes. I still favour him to win.

    Lumbered against Rudenko?

Yeah, Browne 'lumbered' to a UD win over the undefeated Rudenko over 12 rounds.

You can't offer a single example of this 'poor engine' you claim Browne has.

Even against Chagaev, where he was out-boxed into the final minute of the 10th round, he still had enough left in the tank to finish Chagaev.

Likewise, Whyte went the full 12 in a war with Chisora and against Helenius.

    Yep, I wasn't questioning anybody's tank.

Whyte has been the distance a few times and won. It doesn’t mean he’s got a great engine. Same with Browne.

I agree it will start quick. I think the first 3 rounds will see each guy going at it trying to knock the other out. Whyte is desperate for a knock out against a top opponent for his own marketability purposes, every time he's stepped up against British/World level opposition it has failed him and raised some questions. However if neither can knock the other guy out early, i think it will turn into a chess match as to whether Whyte can evade and outbox Browne the remainder of the fight, or whether Browne can catch and wear down whyte and knock him out.

Nobody here is claiming they have 'great engines'. Point out the post where you read that?

You are are claiming they have 'poor engines' - in particular Browne - and you offer nothing to support your claim. Zero.

Agreed. It wouldn't be a great name if he was small, now would it? :D

I do. When he went 12 against Rudenko it was visibly slow and laboured, same with Whyte when he went 12 with Chisora. The rudenko fight was nearly 4 years ago, he’s been in active and is now about to turn 39 come fight night! It’s only going to be worse.
