Wilder would have steamrolled him for sure

Struggling against 38 yr old Julius Long isn't a good sign at all. I think it's clear that Browne won't be a world level fighter

Not a fan but he is just 'keeping busy' for a fight against Ruslan Chagaev

And these two dropped out weeks before..

    Icho Larenas (15-3, 14 KOs)
Gonzalo Omar Basile (66-11 30 KOs)

He also said he'd fight Wilder but Wilder would rather fight someone who can't punch to save his life.

All of that and he's Australian... who wants to go there to fight?? doubt there's much money in it..

    Just saying

Not that I'm a big fan of Big Daddy but he did break his thumb early in the match. Give him a break, no pun intended.:yep

I'm a fan, but he's a glorified brawler more or less... And I think he's done great for himself considering how late he got into the game.

You should've been tipped off by him struggling (imo losing) to Rudenko, who was then schooled by Hughie Fury in his very next fight

He's an old, limited brawler, who's had some luck and some fortunate support snd exposure. I don't blame him for taking advantage of it either, boxings a cruel sport, if you. Can get that big paycheck, grab it with both hands

I noticed it long before that fight even... Brownes never kept his limitations really well hidden, even against Eric Martel Bahoeli he showed the holes he has in his technical ability.... He's won fights on his physical presence/toughness alone, you've got to give him credit I guess. He's gone much further than his abilities suggest he would have, and he has a big payday lined up. He's played the game well, but he's definitely had a bit of luck along the way as you've said.

Long took it on a week's notice, and if you've ever flown halfway around the world and tried to adjust to the jet lag ... well, doesn't look good on Browne.

I actually saw the fight. Long did a good job of smothering brownes punches. Long is a big durable dude. Browne is so flat footed he can't get levarage to land his punches. Very poor showing from a guy who has power to hurt someone quite easily

Yeah Long is a bit unappreciated as far as HW journeymen go. If you can't bomb him out early you're usually in for a long night. Browne to screw his right thumb up, so he wasn't fully committing with it, that definitely played a role you but still a very poor performance.

It was pretty obvious long before this fight. Browne is terrible full stop.
