To put it in perspective; Lucas Browne is fighting a guy who lost to a weight loss motivator turned clown-pugilist called 'The Brown Butterbean', who himself lost a fight to a provincial rugby player. So.. yeah, if Browne loses this he may as well neck himself.
Junior Pati? I got 2 of those for 50p from the rastaman at the market last weekend..... I make Browne a 1/2 favourite against a spicy pasty, winnable comeback for him and good match-making. A couple of Ws against maybe, a bowl of soup followed by a step up Vs Sly Stallone's soiled girdle and he's back in the mix.
Eh Browne has always been a second-3rd rate guy who got by on power and toughness. The only time he remotely resembled a world class fighter was when juiced against the bloated corpse of Chagaev and even then he struggled and was behind at the time of the late stoppage. I like Browne for what he is but he's not a top HW and never was. If hes KO'ing regional tomato cans W.e it's quite possible that he picks the wrong one and gets sparked himself at some point.
Pati never fought Dave Letele, Clarence Tillman did though. Having said that, it would be an even scrap if they did fight which shows how bad this opponent is for Browne. What a year for Browne, fighting Whyte at the o2 to fighting Pati in a netball centre in East Auckland.
I wonder how far along negotiations are for a fight with Parker? Presumably he wouldn't be fighting over there unless something was in the works.
This would probably be Junior Patis highest calibre opponent. For Lucas, this should be a KO victory.
Fast car Eddie Hearn should include Browne on his UK undercards on a 3 fight deal. Fight the likes of David Price, Dave Allen and Derek Chisora. Lol
