Browne while he's on has at least a punchers chance, but I still think he gets outboxed convincingly... The Browne that showed up v.s Julius Long a couple of weeks ago gets KO'd within a rd or two.
Based on what? Browne has been dropped or at least rocked by smaller guys who aren't even THAT powerful. Wilder's work rate and power will drag Browne to a place he's never been. Yep, but have seen Browne in action too. Would pick all of those guys in those states of tune to at least decision Browne. If he gets his mandatory like it seems, he is going to be exposed - at least to those who don't think he already was.
I think Browe vs Wilder wouldn't be much dissimilar to Browne vs Towers, where Browne KOd Towers with the first clean punch he landed, even though it took 5 rounds. Wilder & Towers have been long time sparring associates in the same camps for Kitschko, Haye etc. and I think Browne has the number for those kind of guys tbh.
Other than a flash against Travis Walker I can't remember Browne getting rocked by any one. He wasn't rocked by Walker but it was more of a slip off balance. One thing Browne has going for him is his chin. It has passed all tests so far given his poor boxing ability he has to have a good chin as he takes so many shots. Again why this fight would never happen is because Browne unskilled as he is is still a big strong man who can not only hit hard but can take a punch too. No chance Wilder's team would let him anywhere near their boy...
I'd have to look back over it but the way I remember it he struggled with Toney and I feel like Toney rocked him at least once, and I feel like it's not the only time. As others have said too, Julius Long was WAY too hard work for him - look over his previous fights, the only person he has won every round against was Clarence Tillman and he hasn't fought anyone yet. Wilder is no GOAT but he has fought much more dangerous opposition than Browne, let alone what Browne has fought. Seriously, letting some of those guys get rounds is pretty concerning. Browne is a warrior but throw Wilder in place of Julius Long in that last fight, and what's going to happen?
From memory he was the one rocking Toney, can't remember if he got hurt though. The Long fight wasn't a great spectacle. In fairness to Browne he broke his right thumb early against Long and Long at 7'1" and 270+ pounds was always going to be a interesting opponent. Given the size difference Brown still managed to push him into corners and KO'd him which hadn't happen to Long since 2009 against Marius Wach.
That's true, though I think Long came in under prepared (a week's notice or something?) and was gassed mid fight and was just kinda there for half the fight. Browne clearly beat Toney, but he kindof should have and if he was a serious thread to Wilder I'd have thought fights like that should have been MUCH more one sided. I guess what needs to happen here is Browne and Wilder should fight
He was supposed to still be training and did look to be in shape but with a proper training camp he would have came in better. I saying this Browne only had a weeks notice to prepare for a 7'1" 270+ pound fighter as opposed to the shorter guys he was suppose to be training.. (where would you find sparing partners that big???) I don't think Browne is all that great but he is dangerous and for somebody like Wilder who doesn't seem to be able to not get hit he could be in big trouble. Least it woulds be interesting to watch..
Wilder is still refusing to fight his mandatory Povetkin, WBC is not enforcing their rules..........................Wilder will fight some unknown fighter from the grave...................Wilder will never have to fight anyone who can fight back, he will never have to fight his mandatory. How do you think Wilder became ranked #1 without fighting anyone ranked? Someone answer that!
Wilder would K.O Browne Browne always would have a punchers chance, but he is not accurate, fast or particularly clever so he probably couldn't land that punch against Wilder.
