On the British forum they are saying Towers has a glass jaw and Browne should win by KO

This below from AusBox on the match up.

This is typical of all the media I've seen from Lucas since starting his pro boxing career. It's the reason I'm a fan. Not because I have some deluded sense that he's destined to topple the Klits. Lucas is showing the usual humility and appreciation for those who have helped him along the way and admits he's got a way to come. It's refreshing in the Green/Mundine sideshow era and not dissimilar to the way Real Deal conducts himself. Regardless of how far he goes in the sport, he's great ambassador for us.

Lucas Browne and Richard Towers To Clash In Commonwealth Eliminator
    Press Release October 12, 2012 0

Lucas Browne training with Ricky Hatton.

Lucas Browne will put friendship to one side when he takes on England’s Richard Towers on December 11th.

The pair in meet in a clash between unbeaten heavyweights in Hong Kong, which will see the victor earn the right to box for the Commonwealth title.

But there won’t be any animosity in the build-up.

“Richard and I spent some time together training and sparring and we got along like best mates,” Browne explained.

“It’s a shame that one of us will end up with a loss after this fight because of the other person, but at the same time it’s business and I’m sure it’s not going to affect the friendship.”

Currently the Commonwealth strap is held by another undefeated Brit in the shape of 6ft 8ins David Price.

And that’s a fight which Lucas would welcome somewhere down the line, providing he can get past Towers.

He said: “David Price is a class act and yes of course it’s a fight I would love to have with a little more experience under my belt.

“A victory for me will put me on more people’s radars and just be a massive step towards the dream that I going as far as I can in this sport.”

Lucas’ last two fights have seen him score knockout victories in the UK and one onlooker who was particularly impressed was former four-time world champion Ricky Hatton.

Hatton has signed the Perth man to the new Asia-Pacific arm of his promotions outfit and it is that firm which will stage the fight with Towers.

“As you can imagine hooking up with Hatton is an awesome opportunity and something that a lot of fighters would love to be involved in,” Lucas said.

“I’m very happy and appreciative to be able to associate myself with the team. I just hope to keep getting better and fitter so I can do everyone proud.

He added: “It’s always a great feeling to receive praise for all the hard work that’s put in at the gym, and all the effort that goes into boxing, but to get it from such a well-established fighter like Ricky is really special.”

Ricky Hatton said of the Browne-Towers match-up: “I feel very proud to be involved in this fight and I feel it says a lot about Hatton Promotions that we’re putting on this event, our first promotion in Hong Kong.

“Here we have two high flying and unbeaten heavyweights. Both are at similar stages in their careers and have a similar number of fights, but now they have an opportunity to catapult their way into the world rankings.

“Richard Towers, who I speak extremely highly of, needs to bounce back after a few rocky moments in his last outing, although it’s a learning curve.

“As for Lucas, people are talking about this man now as a world class puncher so it’s a great opportunity for both boxers on a great stage.

Hatton added: “Hopefully this will be the first of many promotions that I will be proudly staging with my co-promoters Jarvis Lau and John Hui.”

Interesting thing looking at it from both sides is that neither side seems the type to put their guy in with someone they won't be able to beat. Towers and his team fancy it, Browne and his team fancy it; it has the makings of an excellent 50/50 fight. My guess is that both had their moments in sparring, both saw flaws in the other. Looking forward to this, I'll be there provided I can find out where to buy tickets!

Towers is utterly hopeless. Uncoordinated, terrible stamina, poor chin. If Browne does not Knock him out inside 4 rounds he too should retire. The only plus side of this fight is it should be the end of the Towers hype.

He's so utterly hopeless that Klitschko has brought him in as one of his main sparring partners for his upcoming bout.
