Lucas Browne vs. Travis Walker & Jake Carr vs. Serge Yannick RBR

:yep The white boy has the slicker defense in there...but he might find himself ground down and stopped here anyway.

 

In between rounds they've been showing highlights of Carr's previous four bouts, and it seems he is usually a lot more aggressive than Yannick is letting him be tonight.

 

Round 8

Yannick is doubling his jab, not caring about exact placement, just using it to stoke the coals and push Carr where he wants him. Big left hooks and looping rights are Yannick's true goal. Carr is ducking and leaning to let most of them slide off his backside. Yannick is caught by a counter left hook coming forward. Carr dips and weaves throwing light counter up-jabs.

Round 9

Yannick is lunging and missing with the jab as Carr keeps him whirling to face up. Yannick switches to long whipping right hands while hopping in but still can't reach. Carr is lining up the 1-2 and crashing through Yannick's guard with it. Yannick is spun out into the ropes, where Carr lays into him with hard 1-2s and left hooks. Yannick is hurt. Carr again runs out of steam trying to finish him off and reverts to circling wide. Yannick comes forward bent on vengeance but the bell rings.

Round 10

Yannick is stepping to his left, throwing jabs and hoping to bore a hole in the side of Carr's skull catching him unawares. Carr is still alert enough to pivot and catch the jabs on his mitts, countering with straight right leads. Big slapping left hooks jumping in by Yannick, missing or hitting the back of Carr's glove. BIG LEFT HOOK COUNTER BY CARR, LANDING WITH A SICKENING LOUD SMACK, forcing Yannick to stagger a few steps. Yannick nods and mixes it up, trading in close. They step apart, Carr getting the proper distance on another BIG LEFT HOOK across the chin off Yannick. He wobbles but stays upright. Carr lunges with a looping right springing up from a crouch and then a left hook as his momentum drags him forward, but Yannick is backpedaling too quickly to catch. Jabs by Carr pushing Yannick to the ropes. Yannick is making him miss, leaning away when not holding the guard up tight. Left hook by Yannick.

They probably are not wrong. This was excellent stuff by Oz standards.
