Matthysse is shoving his bent left forearm out to dispel Pacquiao's right jab, sending it spraying off harmlessly to either side. Matthysse unable to get his own shots off, however, as Pacquiao is relentlessly jabbing in on him and even managing to sneak a few lead right hooks up & over the left arm of Matthysse, turned over into the nose and causing Matthysse's neck to swivel involuntarily. A few body pokes for Matthysse but little else. Pacquiao keeping up a high guard and using range well, exploiting his much quicker feet.

Round 3

Matthysse is set up by a couple of range-finder jabs from Pacquiao and lulled into walking headlong onto a left cross, parking him on his ass. Matthysse up and keeping his shields raised, doing a little bobbing & weaving and lunging at the body of Pacquiao with right hands. Pacquiao flying all over the ring, delivering left uppercuts and right hooks in vicious combinations, always beginning to move laterally even as he's still landing so that Matthysse has no target upon which to direct any counter fire. Pacquiao staying in close and jousting with Matthysse, charging past him with the right jab held out fully extended, playing chicken and winning as Matthysse shells up.
