    Honestly things have panned out perfectly for a Mayweather rematch...

    The performance (and result) against Horn in a legitimately close fight make it seem like he's slipping very badly and thus ripe for the picking, while still leaving his own fan base room to feel confident in him (by exaggerating Horn's fouls and crying robbery) - and now ending his stoppage drought against somebody once regarded as teak-tough like Matthysse will raise his stock among casuals...maybe not to its glory day heights but higher than it was a couple of years ago, enough to perhaps bring Mayweather sniffing around willing to put his zero at risk once more to buy himself an insurance win and go 51-0 just to keep his new record even safer...

    Throw in the background of the whole Malaysia fight, with Pacquiao kicking loose of Arum, whom Mayweather is loathe to deal with...and yeah, the idea of an independent Pac signing the dotted line with his old rival in 2019 seems less and less absurd...

    Maybe you're right, I just kinda totally assumed it because well Pac and TR are kinda synonymous. I didn't even think of the possibility that he's not REALLY with Arum anymore. My bad.

    I don't see the Mayweather rematch happening though, I mean the first fight was bad, people had their hands burned already by that. They're old and everyone knows this, heck they were old when they fought 3 years back, so whatever the outcome is, it doesn't really even mean anything at this point. Hard to get anyone excited.

    Not to mention it'd probably take more to make it happen then there's to gain. I don't see it personally but who knows.

    I agree with all of that and they'd be lucky to get half the viewership the original PPV did, but still - neither of them is finding as big a cash out anywhere in the world as each other again.
