    Id rather see these two fight different opponents, on the same card, to build this fight up a bit on the short term end. Right now it would be a badass clash of such similar fighters in a scorching slugfest, but it would be painfully overlooked.

    I would love this fight, but Id like it to be built up with one card with both of them back to back, in yes..... showcase type fights, with it being open that these two are on a collision course with one another.

    Double header

    Maidana vs Urango
    Lucas vs Peterson



    Then 3 months later

    Maidana vs Lucas.



    Would be insane.

    Maidana is better IMO. Good fight because they are both there to be hit, Maidana gets a stoppage win at some point. I think Maidana would make quick work of this version of Judah tbh.

    It would be interesting imo, if you look at Maidana's record leading up to the Khan fight it is not too different from Matthyse's now. I can't make my mind up tbh, it is hard to find a measuring stick. Mattyse's win over Corley is a lot more impresive although Corley may have been more motivated against Maidana. It shoul happen.

    Matthyse would smash the hype job into oblivion.

    Matthyse did to corley what a hyped up maidana should have done.

    That being said we would know how good matthyse was by seeing him in against kotelnick or maybe peterson! That would be a good fight. Damn this division is so loaded right now!

    That being said, as much as I don't rate maidana, he did show very good footwork and educated pressure vs khan, a similar performance to matthyse vs judah really.

    The amount of potential matchups is mouth watering.

    A very good top ten made up of bradley, khan, alexander, kotelnik, judah, ortiz, maidana, matthyse, peterson and mabuza.

    Plus there is the wildcard in prescot, and the potential rise of the lightweights, the uk contingent in mccloskey, murray. Even the old fighters like corley, holt, urango... Best division atm for potential matchups

    You still thinks so? Lucas easily beat up Corley while Maidana actially had trouble with Corley.

    The key to this whole matchup would be Matthyse's chin. Zab hit him with some flush shots, and he never flinched. I suspect his chin is more than solid.

    If he could handle Chino's power, I think he would break him with the body attack. I love Maidana.... but Matthyse is by FAR a better techncian.

    I think this would be a cracking fight and I'm glad people agree. Maidana seems to be the favourite which is fair enough since he is more established. I honestly can't make my mind up though, that's why I haven't voted.

    I been saying about this fight but most here say Maidana will easily ko Lucas. Well after what Lucas did to Corley while Maidana struggle with Corley, i think Lucas vs Maidana proved to me that this fight will be fight of the year.
