who you got, i rewatched the tyszu fight, hattons career best performance, he was reckless but would pressure the hell out of you, i think matthyse would have a chance, it would be a close fight for either guy IMO.
You'd need to be a pretty slippery, cunning or a negative fighter to best a prime Hatton. Matthysse, as good as he is, is none of those. Instead, he'd give Hatton the type of fight he'd enjoy, and probably fail to match his workrate to get ahead on the scorecards. But it's hard to say, to be honest. I've not seen Matthysse against many brawlers. To his credit, he seems to be matched up against styles that would be tricky for him - Judah, Olusegun, Alexander, Corely, etc.
Well, since Lucas found a way to go 12 rounds with a shot Zab Judah I think Tzsyu era Hatton has a great chance of a UD here.
So easy to underrate a prime Hatton, and overrate current Matthysse in this type of scenario. But I'd give Hatton the edge in this bout.
Unfortunately, everyone's most recent memory of Hatton (unless he does something spectacular on his return) will be of him getting knocked out by Pacquiao. It won't be everlasting, but it is kind of stuck there for a while. Kind of like Hamed and Barrera. Everyone thinks Hamed retired after Barrera, mainly because that is the lasting memory :conf Hatton was relentless, had a very good workrate, could take a shot, and could box and adapt at times aswell.
Hatton takes it, probably via late stoppage. Too much pressure, it would be really difficult staying focused whilst fighting a prime hatton
I definitely favour Hatton here, and by quite a margin. Wide UD is the most likely outcome in a great fight.
