I love this guy - he came to boxing and did it the hard way through grit and hard work he didn't get anything handed to him on a plate like so many fighters.

He got jobbed vs Judah and Alexander but still dug down and tried harder. Ignored by networks ignored by promoters I love underdogs like this man!

Seriously fellas how can you not respect Lucas Matthysse now?

P.S. Anyone else see the parallels with Froch? Crude, aggressive, underpromoted, under estimated?

The Alexander fight was close, but I gave it to Mathysse. He's my favorite fighter, and I think he's the best JW today. I hope he gets some good fights. I would love to see him fight Petersen or Garcia.

I really don't think him or Froch are that crude. Their aggression is pretty calculated.

I agree 100%! Many people though see this style of boxing as 'crude' :-(

He's one tough SOB and deserve all the praise he's getting. I hope he gets a big money fight soon.

Feed Boner to him and Boner leaves on a body bag.

Broner and Garcia would beat him.

What evidence is there to support this? Broner is still untested and Garcia was loosing vs Khan and only won because he got a shot on Khan's sugar-glass chin.

I'm not saying outright He'd win but Lucas has fought the better competition - as the underdog - against the judges - and came away with his head held high.

I think he takes it to Garcia if they meet. Broner won't go near him
