Based on what Crawford was dropped by a smaller guy in Gamboa

You laboring under the same illusion that it's about who a fighter has fought. When a fighter gets to a certain stage in career and development, then it's not about who they fought but who they are and how their skills match up at the time of their encounter. Who had Buster Douglass fought when he knocked out Mike Tyson? Plenty of examples out there.

Matthysse won't take that fight. Crawford would beat the living **** out of Matthysse.

    Toss up fight IMO

Gamboa has freakish ability so I wouldn't make the direct comparison in an outcome. Gamboa got beat up pretty bad anyhow. Crawford is fantastic at adjusting. Would love to see it.

You actually got something right with this. Yeah, Matthysse is a TERRIBLE style match-up for Crawford. Crawford gets KO'd.

Not just dropped, put on ***** street. Not a good look getting that hurt against the smaller guy that looked at least one or two divisions below Crawford.

Give me a break that fight was razor close if anything Garcia hasn't been the same fighter since.

Matthysse has underrated skills, but I can't see him out boxing Crawford. He does have the power to take anyone out so he will be dangerous throughout the fight, but I think Crawford wins by UD.

As for Gamboa hurting Crawford - Crawford was weight drained, it is why he has moved up recently, and Gamboa has the speed and skills to hit guys with shots they don't see coming. Matthysse probably won't be able to do this against someone like Crawford.

Yet there are so so many more of a fighter stepping up in class this much and getting beat up.

I hope Matthysse enters as an underdog. That'd be easy damn money.

Not really, every fighter who ever took a title for the first time was supposedly stepping up in class. Just as many fighters have stepped up and won as lost. It was the better prepared fighter at that moment who won. Not necessarily the fighter who had fought the better competition.

I'd give Crawford the edge here. His ring IQ is pretty high and he showed he has some power at 140. It's clear he can box and make it a dog fight when needed. I think he takes the decision against Lucas.

Who has Crawford fought that's better ?
I can assure you Lucas and his team will have a great game plan like always so Crawford better be ready I know that.:hi:

Pssh.. Wasn't Crawford floored by little 130lb Gamboa so just imagine what will happen when Lucas connects :deal
