Lucian Bute: A Joke, A Ducker

    Bute is afraid of all the best SMW fighters. When he was 28, his trainer said he was too green to face a great fighter like Kessler. When they were setting up the Super 6, they made other excuses to avoid the best fighters and continue fighting bums. Bute will be 31 in February, and still hasn't fought a champion or former champion. Lots of great champs retired at that age. When will Bute step up to the plate? Until he does, he is a joke in my book.

    Bute fans: can you tell me why I'm wrong?

    The time is running out of his hourglass for sure.

    He should take Pascal on in the biggest domestic bout Canada has ever seen, at LHW.

    List them all. All of them "best fighters" he could have fought since the beginning of the S6, considering he wanted/wants to remain at 168. :hi:

    Showtime admitted that he was never invited in the first place.

    Who had Ward & Dirrell fought before the S6 started? Had Taylor & AA done a lot at 168 before the tournament kicked off?

    What's your ****in point again..?

    Its so easy to be called fraud, ducker, joke on ESB even Ali can be put down by the so called experts here. Bute may be all that but as far as I know, he destroy his competition like no one else at 168lbs and we need to see him to the next level before anything can be said. But even if he beat Froch, Ward and Dirrel all by KO in a single night, some clowns here will bash on him anyway, like any other good fighter. People on ESB don't like boxing, they like ONE fighter and all others are ****......

    1) Because Bute beat Berrio to win his title.
    2) Because Showtime admitted they never invited him.
    3) Because he just signed with Showtime to fight the best fighters of the super six.

    Until then, you are a joke in my book.

    The fact remains he is fighting Brian Mcgee, not even his supporters can like this fight.

    ...in all fairness..

    does he talk about moving to another weight where there is better competition and more future exciting fights?

    canada will hold off on pascal vs. bute for a loooong time..

    he has a good excuse with the super 6.. it is ...what it is.

    maybe if sturm or pirog move up in weight?

    Sure, anytime. But I don't think it'll happen for a while.

    The guy would never come back down to 168 after training & building-up to 175. He's far from being Pac.

    At least someone here has some common sense. In March Bute could fight a great proven fighter, like Kelly Pavlik, Arthur Abraham, Felix Storm, or possibly Andre Dirrell (if he is fit to box). Even a rematch with Sakio Bika would be reasonable.

    Instead, they handpicked Brian Magee to follow the great fight with the mighty Jesse Brinkley. At age 31, Bute will be fighting yet another bum, to defend his "championship". He is no champion until he fights the best. The Super Six guys have proven they are great. Ward and Dirrell were nobodies before that, but now we know they are great. Bute has beaten Andrade and Bika, but that's not enough to call yourself the SMW champion. Let's be real. He's a contender, and nowhere near the best one.

    bute is taking the easy way.

    hes not fighting the best,and hes wating for the best to beat the best,and to face the top guy once he comes out of the super six as champion.

    its not respectable at all.very disapointing.

    waiting for all the top guys in his division to destroy each other so he can take the scraps of whats left when its through.

    and butes ranked no 1 in some places!.what a joke.

    That's bollocks. The reason I'm so pissed off at Bute is because I love his style and think he could have great fights, but he is getting old and still hasn't fought a champ or former champ. That's ridiculous, bad for the sport of boxing, and just irritating. Pavlik is waiting, but will Bute step up to the plate? No, he wants to fight the formidable Brian Magee.

    Some of you guys are ****in delusional... this is a stay busy fight, not a 'good' one by any mean. Dirrell, Kessler and Pavlik WILL NOT THROW THEMSELVES AT BUTE FOR THEIR FIRST FIGHT BACK FROM INJURY/DETOX. HOLY **** IS IT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND.

    Stieglitz doesn't want anything to do with Bute. Rightfully so.

    STFU with the duck talk until someone decent is actually available. Shaw-hi can't pull miracles that fast.
