Lucian Bute: "Carl Froch was better!"

Spoken like a real man. I respect Lucian's character and actually might root for him in the rematch now.

 

I'm still kinda shocked about the fight. Watching him battered on the ropes was not the Bute I'm used to seeing, I don't understand why he didn't move. I still believe it was like he said, he froze up, more so than not having the boxing ability to defeat Froch or at least be competitive. There are much lesser opponents on Froch's record who have lasted the distance, or if not, weren't so completely dominated like Bute was.

I seriously do feel that a rematch in Montreal would go much differently. Not saying he'd win, but having that second redeeming chance to learn from mistakes of the first fight in a familiar environment would make it competitive, as long as he can keep his cool. It's not like he hasn't been pressured in a fight before. We've all seen what Bute can do, I don't care if his opponents prior to Froch were C and B class, I think he 'choked' on fight night and can learn from this.

 

Dont make them like this anymore.

I'd never heard anything from Bute before just watched his fights but everything I've read since Saturday has made me a fan.

 

Bute is live right now on Romanian Tv. When asked about what was the statement that bother him the most after his loss to Froch he said that It was said:
"That i sold the fight, that it was a fix." and " That's some said he's finished, done." He believes he has the strength to return.

 

Good to know he's mentally accepting it and moving on.

 

Bute: There are two possibilities to make the re-match in 3-4 months, or to have both a fight and then have the re-match in the spring of next year.

 

Pure class from Bute. Apart from when he fights Froch I hope he has some more success in his career

 

Looks to me that he already decided to have a re-match and "When" is the only question in his mind.

 

I think the main difference wasn't in quality or ability, but simply that Carl was battle hardened by fighting at the very top level for so long, whereas Lucian was fighting much lower quality opponents. Lucian should have stepped up in class years ago and whilst, like Carl, he may have lost a couple,he'd be a much better fighter in 2012
