Lucian Bute could of beat Joe Calzaghe if he was around a bit earlier!

Bute and Calzaghe chin are pretty equal..., people think Bute have only a average chin because once he get caught, he seem to back off for couple of sec, but this is clearly a defensive move, it's very hard to hit Bute flush one time, and when it happens, you can be sure he will back off so the second punch never come.

Defense ? Bute defense is underrated imo.

Calzaghe SPEED is the edge here.

Bute-Calzaghe and Kessler have all a very good quality in common, they all have VERY good ring generalship:deal !

Bute is young and he has all the qualities to be a great champ. Just give the man some time. This year will probably bring only one "OK" fight for Bute - the mandatory defence and another fight that could be very similar to the Joppy fight but in 2009 - he's gonna blow up... and listen to me... if he's not stopped fast he won't stop for some good years...

A lot of Lucian Bute, Candian fanboy crap goes on on this forum and it high time it stopped.

Yes he packs 13,000 people into a arena when he's fighting old men but the more you losers build him up the higher he will fall when he loses. I like Bute but you deluded fools are quickly making me hope he will have a fall.

Been reading on this forum for a long time. Reading valid points from people like Amsterdam and co for while. But this is a stupid argument. Calzaghe would beat Bute anytime. Being an old time Calzaghe fan, I've noticed that people that have only noticed Calzaghe after Lacy and dont realise that Calzaghe has had to change to his style because of his hand problems. He would have stopped Bute a few years ago.

I have only seen Bute a couple of times. What people don't realise that a peak a Calzaghe was a banger. Don't judge Calzaghe's power by what you saw against Ashira, Lacy, Bika and Kessler. Watch his early fights and you'll see what I mean. The current Calzaghe would beat Bute by UD.

Sorry mate. Just come back from the pub, bit pissed. Don't get me wrong, Bute is number 3 at SM. Lets see how he copes against Kessler when they meet (WHEN HIS MANAGEMENT THINK HE'S READY). Bute fans should just be patient and see how he develops, before making big comments like the thread maker. Peace.

Well, hopefully he does good (post Calzaghe). He seems like a nice guy. Always good to have another Euro fighter do well in potentially strong division (Pavlik, Taylor, Ward, Miranda and more in the future).
