Quick question: Why was Johnson regarded as a solid threat to Froch, but is now disregarded as a legitimate opponent for Bute?

    :huh

For as long as he could. He's obviously making good money fighting cans in Canada so he will continue till he's forced to fight someone worth mentioning.

He was coming off a good win against Allan Green before he fought Froch and was part of the tournament so Froch had to fight him whether you liked it or not.

The better question is, why didn't Bute join the tournament?

This is the quick and simple answer that the nuthuggers fail to understand.

As long as Bute is selling out arenas and making good money fighting low risk fights he will continue to do so.

It is up to his fans to say enough of this nonsense and stop buying the mismatches, but nuthuggers won't do that.

The real question is why it was a legitimate threat to Froch (and it was even after 8 rounds on the scorecards) and now that he is facing Bute, Johnson isn't good anymore and is over the hill. The haters decided that. Can't wait to see Bute against Froch someday to shut some critics. Anyway, the haters will never give the credit Bute deserve whatever happens.

Johnson was coming off a win over Green and was a part of a tournament Bute wanted NOTHING to do with. Whether fans hyped up Johnson or not Froch HAD to face him. Now that he's coming off a loss, Bute is interested. If he was coming off a win, Bute would have went for Froch and the likes of you would still say "Why is Froch not a threat anymore now that Bute is fighting him!", HELLO he's coming off a LOSS.

Yeah, that's why I was asking :good

I can't wait for the Super Six to be over, either. Then we'll see what Bute is made of, and whether he is/will be ducking the best of the division. Because until now, the best and most lucrative opponents just hadn't been available. Hopefully that'll all change, now.

Bute has sparred Johnson plenty and obviously got the better of him easily otherwise he would not take the fight.

Alien, give me some other names available or was since the Super Six began? I find funny to see Zuniga lasting 12 rounds against Cloud and nobody talks about it. But when it's about Bute, the haters have fun. Bute makes his adversaries look silly, plain and simple. Alien, you talk about canada but with all the corrupt judgements I've seen in the US since a year, I would shut up. You don't throw rocks to the others when you have a house built of glass.

Bute wanted to clear things up, rematched Andrade on HBO in which GBP chose to have the fight in Canada. Showtime had already their 3 up & comers from the US all lined up in the S6 plan.

    Next.

Every Bute fan, given an average amount of intelligence, knew Bute's selection of opponents while the S6 was going on would be limited. Some appreciated, some wrote all over RDS talkbacks & blogs asking for LHW's, which the wise fans knew was a no-go considering Interbox and Bute's vision of clearing up 168.

How many big fights has America hosted compared to Canada?

the answer i was looking for was that almost all of those were close or split decision losses on the road and that he was a full time construction worker.

Bute was not invited to the super 6.
