Mundine was top rated. Kessler fought him on the other side of the planet with a bad back and took Mundine to school. Haussler was a (lame) mando. Kessler brutally KO'ed him in 3 rounds in Germany.
You forgot to mention that bit about him saying he was willing to fight Kessler in Europe too (presumably Germany or Denmark), because he mentioned Romania separately.
According to the scene, Bute said what WesT posted. If he said anything else a link/source would be appreciated.
I loved Kessler's response when he said; "Just hand me my dog and I will make my way up to the podium". almost instantly he felt the leather strap on his fingertips as he heeled the dog; "I'll never lose to a sighted person", he vowed as he inched towards the stage.
''Anywhere'' is anywhere and that includes Denmark. Trust that Bute's detractors are already making excuses for Kessler.
Quote unquote: ''n'importe où, en Europe...'' (anywhere, in Europe...) Don't think for one second that this will keep the haters shut. As we see it on a daily basis, a hater's motivation to hate is infinite.
Decebal - you have been around for years :bbb. I for ones is 100 % dead sure, that Kessler is wiling to fight Bute in Canada. Kessler wants to fight the best, and therefor the only way was to travel otherwise Calzaghe and Ward was never on. How "much" do you think Bute wants to fight Kessler........?
I think Bute wants to fight Kessler very much. He has said so many times recently and he seemed to mean it too. What Bute really wants is to have the biggest fights with the biggest exposure, preferably in Las Vegas/ MSG so that he can make the most money. He knows that involves beating the winner of the Super Six. He wants to prove that he is the best SMW. He knows that for him to fight the winner of the Super Six, he needs to remain unbeaten. But staying unbeaten is not enough. He needs to prove that he is worthy too. With Kessler having a contract that gives him a shot at the winner, Bute needs to get past Kessler. Given the big $ contract he's got with Showtime, Bute will be told which fights to take - Showtime will want him to fight the best available, but they will also want him to remain unbeaten, to build him up against the winner of the s6. It seems Showtime are pushing for Kessler vs. Bute as much as anyone! The other thing Bute wants is to fight in Romania, for emotional reasons, preferably this summer. Of course, Bute also wants to keep his belt - he needs to fight his mandatory to keep it. I think his mandatory is still Mendy. The way things are set up, with Kessler probably needing a tune-up this summer, the earliest we'll see Bute vs. Kessler is in autumn. Unfortunately, unless Bute can get Dirrell and not get stripped by the IBF, he'll probably fight Mendy next, in Romania. Is there anyone else? I don't think so. Where should Kessler vs. Bute happen? Somewhere that allows the fight to have maximum exposure in the USA and where it makes most money for both fighters. Of course, this could also involve it happening in the middle of the night in Denmark... the other place, of course, is Montreal. I agree thought that it would be better if Bute fought Kessler away from home - and that means Denmark, because Bute vs. Kessler wouldn't sell in the USA.
Bute is eager to fight the best. He knows he has a window of opportunity of about three or four years considering he is 30. His resume is not as good as the S6 boxers but he faced good fighter and I can't believe people never take to account or don't mention the fact that the best of his class are busy and not available due to the tournament. That said, expect a other B level of opposition fight for him before fighting Kessler. Bute wants to fight in Romania, is home country, where he never did since he turned pro. That fight would not be within the frame of the Showtime agreement.
Calzaghe also agreed to travel to Denmark before Warren got the fight at The Millenium Stadium where it had a massive site, makin it the biggest non open air attendance ever
Sure Butes resume is not as impressive as Frochs but it is a better SMW resume than the other remaining 3 fighters Ward has only one good win over an unwell double vision suffering Kessler, which isnt overall better than Butes resume. Abraham has only a couple of SMW victories of note Miranda and Taylor coming off a KO loss G Johnson atsch Just a note on G Johnsons SMW career - In 12 SMW fights Johnson has lost 6 of them. Johnson has lost at SMW to - M Sosa who had 5 losses and 2 draws, and lost his next 2 fights after beating Johnson Kiwanuka who had 3 losses and 2 draws, had lost his last 2 fights coming into his fight with Johnson and his fight after Johnson Ottke 16-0 who in fairness was an outstanding SMW boxer Vanderpool 27-1 who lost his next fight, but in fairness that was at MW to Hopkins and Vanderpool had a good run after Branco 38-4-2 who was a world class SMW and became WBA LHW champ Sheika who was 19-1 and lost his next fight, though in fairness that was to Calzaghe. The SMWs that Johnson has managed to beat Campas 3-20-4 coming off of only 2 losses and won his next fight Watson 24-16-1, Johnson was his last fight Renteria 9-23-5 coming in, whos last 10 fight record before facing Johnson was 0-8-2 Zimmerman 15-2-0 coming in, who had lost his previous fight and the one after A Green 29-2-0 coming in and Johnsons biggest SMW victory Its not impressive now is it. Please spare me the robbery talk. If any rated SMW losses to Johnson it wont look good on their resume This content is protected To think beating Green was all Johnson had to do to become a Ring rated SMW in todays ratings
Thanks. Oh definetely. Maybe he said Europe and then specified Europe as Romania in the quote on the scene.... Anyways the favourable interpretation is that he's ready for Kessler anywhere. So we'll see. Kessler is ready to travel as always of course. He SPECIFICALLY said he'd love to go to Montreal.
