Stop repeating BattheMan false facts. They are false. When bute became a champ, it was at the same time Kessler fought Calzaghe. After his loss, he took a 6 months break to heal his hand. Kessler decided to go the WBA way and when he could have been available, he and Palle got on litigation and he stopped fighting.

    This is false Boot-stain propaganda.

After Sartison Kessler issued a challenge to all the topfighters. Nobody wanted a piece of him. Especially not Bute who didnt feel he was ready.

In an ideal world, that fight would take place at MSG on the undercard of the Super 6 final some time in September-October.

That would be a mega card that would greatly hype and set up the next fight between the winners.

Since SHOWTIME broadcasts out of the US, I imagine that their ideal scenario would be to at least make it in North America.

If it's not financially realistic to make 2 big matches on the same card, then why not put it in Atlantic City with Kelly Pavlik and some other decent guy as a co-feature fight ? Considering that TOP RANK & INTERBOX have a partnership in place between their boxers and now both deal with SHOWTIME, it could be done...

funny thing is if Kesslers only opponents were the guys Bute has beaten he woud be the one who is undefeated. Bute needs to finally fight a world class opponent the Magees of the word no longer cut it if you want to continue to hype Bute.

Calzaghe had no problem going to Denmark. It was Calzaghe that said he wanted no other fight than Kessler, but your right in that they wanted to build interest for a Calzaghe - Hopkins match up.
Calzaghe was willing to go to America in the earlier part of the decade, went to Germany fought away in England and neutral in Denmark, later Calzaghe did fight away twice in America, so I doubt Calzaghe would have that much of a problem

When you look at the top 4 SMWs being Kessler, Froch, Ward and Bute. It is Ward who overall has the worst resume at this time

You're assuming something without any facts about it. If he said I won't go to Denmark, I would gladly say you're right, but it's not the case. Let's wait first to see who Kessler fight for his comeback fight. Why not Jean-Paul Mendy so he could become the no.1 challenger to the IBF strap?

The AMERICANS of Showtime decided more than 2 years ago to not put BUTE in the Super 6.

    They wanted 3 americanns......Jermain Taylor...

It's their fault now if bute as not fought a very good fighter in the last 2 years..

Calzaghe and Warren change there opponent because of the boxing fans interest......................

Personally - Calzaghe and Bute would/will never fight Kessler in Denmark. The 0 is way to important.

Bute seems to be a fighter of the "old days". Calzaghe, Ottke, Hopkins, Jones and the likes all did the same. Calzaghe vs. Kessler was the turning point. Froch, Taylor, Abraham, Dirrell, Pascal, Martinez all benefit from this. Boxing was reborn.

It is in this context, Bute has to shine now.....................

Mendy is as good a comeback opponent as St. Juste, Larsen etc. The IBF mandatory bit is useless. He's already WBC emeritus so he can get that titleshot whenever he wants.

Would be an interesting fight, Kessler probably needs a tune-up first since he´s not been training nor sparring nor fighting for months.

They would all be good comeback fights for Kessler and better than many of the fights Jones Jnr had as a world champ (and he was considered fighter of the decade)
