I head Les Sherrington used to clean up after the elephants at the circus. That is a very important job you know. His brother "Scar Par" will be making his debut to boxing soon too.
Instead of complaining about who he will fight, why don't you tell us who he should fight? Who exactly is Bute avoiding?
He has been avoiding good fighters left right and center. And now he is to fight a guy named Sherrington. I could laugh if this wasn't so sad. Here we have a guy who most agree is very talented and he is wasting his career fighting non-threats.
Sartison: Bute made him an offer and Sartison refused. Don't know the details, but I doubt Sartison is even worth ducking for Bute. And I even suspect most people would say Sartison is a bum if Bute decided to fight him. Maybe not europeans, but I feel the term "euro bum" would be used by most americans. Pascal: Not even in the same weight class. Bute made an offer to fight Martinez, but he refused. Is Martinez ducking Bute? And Pascal only called Bute out when Bute already had a signed contract to fight Brinkley. Then Pascal himself signed to fight Hopkins before Bute fought Brinkley. So tehy were never both available to make the fight happen. Kessler: Maybe 3 years ago, but they are negociating right now. If Kessler didn't need a tune up, he would be Bute's next fight. And Kessler wasn't available for the whole Super6. If Bute indeed fights Sherington, it's only because he wants to fight in Romania and he needs a fight since Kessler, Dirrell and Palik aren't ready. It's a convenient tune up in a place no decent name would accept to fight and it makes his romanian fans happy.
Sartison is much better than Magee. Of course Bute's Quebec fans dont care, but those who know boxing knows that. And he is more expensive than Magee. Pascal? Consider this: August 18 2010. It is clear that Pascal has made an offer for Bute who's looking for credible opponents. On August 24 the plan is ditched. The excuse from Bute is weight: On October 5 2010 Interbox is trying to set up a fight with cruiserweight Danny Green. ^^^^ This should cover the Pascal duck. Yeah Bute wanted nothing of Kessler. Fought Zuniga instead. So can you guys please stop this excusemaking and come back to planet earth? We all want Bute to step up and we all cross fingers for it happening this year finally.
I'm a big supporter of Bute, and I feel a lot of flack he gets is unfair. But I think there were better choices for Bute to face than Sherrington. Kessler had better be his next opponent or I might start to lose patience with him, too.
Sartison: What you said is absolutely right, but that doesn't mean waht I said was incorect at all. Pascal: On Interbox website: " Montreal, Thursday, July 8th, 2010 InterBox is proud to announce that the International Boxing Federation (IBF) has approved the staging of an IBF mandatory title bout between top contender Jesse Brinkley (35-5-0, 22 KO) and IBF Super Middleweight champion Lucian Bute (26-0-0, 21 KO). InterBox also reports that it has reached agreement with Lets Get It On Promotions and Star Boxing for the services of Jesse Brinkley, and that the mandatory fight will take place on Friday, October 15th 2010 at the Montreal Bell Centre. The IBF awaits signed contracts from each camp." So on July 8th, the fight with Brinkley was already signed. That means that Bute wasn't looking for an opponent when Pascal called him out in August. And you take a quote from Yvon Michel, who is the direct rival from Interbox to make your point. Not much credibility to it. Interbox tried to make a deal with Green: Jean Bédard isn't really a boxing guy (he would say so himself). He is a business man. I doubt he even knew Green was fighting at cruiserweight at that time. For exemple, Bédard also said that the Green fight would have to happen at 170-172 max. If he knew Green was fighting at cruiserweight, I don't think he would've said that. Bute fought Zuniga: I guess you remember that Bute had just fought Andrade for the first time, and I guess you remember the end of that fight. Need I say more? When he beat Zuniga, he negociated with Froch, who prefered to go in the S6. BTW, Froch had ducked Bute in 2007 for the IBF eliminator... The only time Bute ducked Kessler is when he became champion. He said he wasn, tready for the Kessler's and Calzaghe's because he had only 20 fights at the time. Stop making excuses? Unless you can refute what I say with something else than an opinion, it isn't excuses, but possibilities. You say Bute is ducking everyone, but if this is true, why did he sign a multi-fights contract with the network that owns the right to all the best SMW? That contract even has a clause that says the fight against the S6 winner would not be in Canada. Strange thing to do for a ducker, isn't it?
