Lucian Bute is a perfect example of how today's fighters can become champion without

I've never said that but anyway Bute HAS NO CHOICE but to face Andrade again (mandatory) and for his credibility yes, maybe its better. Unification fight with Froch will be much more appealing after this fight, if he win. And understand me, I really wan Bute to face Froch very soon, but its a unification fight and this is usually a much harder deal to make.

I don't know if he is.

    Probably about the same.

Point is the fight is good and Bute vs Froch didn't happen because Bute didn't want it.

You just mand cuz now Froch will have to fight somebody more mediocre.

Time ran out on negotiations. Once the fight goes to purse bid (which is set by the sanctioning body), the fighter either needs to fight the mandatory or get stripped. We all know that Bute-Froch is a much bigger fight if it's a unification bout, so it would be silly for Bute to get stripped just to face Froch now. Froch will still be there when Bute is done with Andrade. Plus, if he was offered just over a million like you said, then Bute's not making much less for this fight (about $970k) than he would have been for fighting Froch.

Bute was KO'ed by Andrade and the ref saved his ass by refusing to count.

After Bute takes care of Andrade a second time, I'll be the first to be pushing for a unification fight ASAP with either Kessler or Froch.

If Bute fights Froch, you'll see quickly why Froch is not the caliber of Bute... After that fight, Froch will get a new trainer to teach his ass to keep his hands UP !!!! :hey

Yeah I'm well aware of the contingent of fans here from Montreal that back Lucian Bute. However, I rely on my own judgement as far as figuring out where he ranks in the scheme of things and I don't get caught up in the rumor mill. If his fans are saying the things that you claim they are saying I haven't paid enough attention to notice it for whatever reason. I regard Bute as being a very good fighter and a deserving champion. Am I willing to throw out the word elite? That all depends. Bute's certainly got the potential to be an elite fighter. He's got the amateur credentials and despite the Andrade debacle, he is still undefeated as a professional. His style is difficult to contend with and he certainly takes his craft seriously. Time will tell. As for now, he is what he is and that's a solid fighter and a champion in a very deep division. His level of opposition hasn't been great but it hasn't been that bad either.
