Lucian Bute is a perfect example of how today's fighters can become champion without

Seeing as you're entirely redundant at taking a point and only seem to know resumes

Who has Joppy lost too? Every single fighter he has lost too has been a champion in some shape or form.

He went on a 5 KO streak after losing to Jermain Taylor and while those opponents weren't notable, it certainly goes to show he hadn't become "done" like you seemingly think.

He's not elite, but he's obviously a good contender, considering he was a previous MW belt holder and has been in 14 title fights, winning 9 of them.

Get your head out of your ass.

Why did you pick on Bute?

That screams agenda to me. Bute's resume is not great, but at the same time there are many world champs with worse so I don't know why you picked him out :huh

this is what you get when you have all these titles. but Bute knows that he willm have to fight the top 2 to 3 at 168 if he won'ts the respect and big money

Bika, Berrio, Joppy, Andrade and Zungia... All one-time champions or top contenders that Bute beat convincingly (except rd 12 vs Andrade... that's another story)

Why pick on Lucien??? There's much less deserving "champs" than him out there IMO.

I agree to a certain extent, but you have to admit that the joppy fight was a 'gimmie'. No world champion should be fighting joppy, who was at one time a good fighter... But these days, man that fight was sad to watch.

Joppy was pretty average even at his best...But Bika, Andrade, Berrio are nothing to sneeze at.

Mock and Salem are fairly decent fighters aswell...especially if your fighting them before you win the title.
I really cant see anything wrong with Bute's record...its probably better then Joe's was at the equivalent stage in his career.

People have done much worse than going through Bika to earn a title shot. Not many lining up to fight him.

The Joppy defense can't be justified, though. He was gatekeeper material at that point, tops. That he hasn't fought since says all you need to know.

I consider it the same as I consider being able to beat Tito Trinidad or Antonio Tarver, the guys are well past their best years but they've still got the boxing knowledge they always had.

They're a test for young fighters, remember, Bute has only had 24 fights in total.

You can throw Berrio in his place but in my view, very few fighters in their 24th fight, can say they've had 4 title fights, faced at least 10 guys who have fought for titles before and remain undefeated with a KO percentage near 80%

He's faced solid opposition, the criticism you can make about him is that he's yet to fight anyone that was undefeated prior to fighting him, although with Andrade and Bika, at least you can point to the guys they lost too and be understanding.

... If you wanted to pick on a Canadian, why didn't you just say Jean Pascal or Diaconnu ? Both are complete jokes and have won titles based after beating basically nobody.

It's because he's not a champion, he's a title holder. We live in the alphabet era and need to learn to make that distinction.

his resume is still decent imo. bika, berrio zuniga and joppy aint pushovers. do you think his resume is less impressive compared to, like, valero? lol.

at least his resume is better than other champs.
